My Dad and I pulled the transmission tonight and my hunch was correct. A mess of metal in the tranny.

Was fun to chat with you and Mike!

Brian, that sucks... any thoughts on how/why? What were you doing when it broke? That doesn't seem to make sense to me for what that tranny is capable of.

Awesome car! Just found this thread yesterday and I have a quick question (also working toward a 73 CP car ;) ). What are the rules on the LS engine? I was under the impression that update/backdate was only within generations, or has that changed recently?

Same engine "family", so Chevy Small Block V8 to Chevy Small Block V8.

Thank you! I re-read the rules last night with that interpretation in mind. It was in the appendix for CP regarding "same manufacturer" and "same configuration". So glad the LX is legal!

I believe it was in the SCCA forums where I saw "Locally, it should be ok, but in nationals expect a protest"

The LS is legal in all Camaro's. Anyone can protest, but, they will lose. It is very clear in the rules and it has been discussed by the class on the CP Digest.

Brian

MUAHAHAHAHA!!! :woot:

BTW, your car just became my new screen background. Previous screen savers include Tigman's camaro, and Big Red.
