You'll like the Terminator EFI, I had it on my C10. It does pretty good at giving you a baseline on the self-learning aspect, but I never got around to getting it hooked up to a laptop to really dig into it.

I had it hooked to a large cap HEI, but I wish I would have done the small cap, computer controlled timing HEI. I bought the MSD Pro Billet one but never got it installed before the truck sold, so I still have that if you are interested. I already have a Melonized gear installed on it for roller cam compatibility and changed out the Chinese made control module for an AC Delco one. I read about that on the Holley forums and the control module that MSD uses seemed to be a big complaint and changing it to a GM/AC Delco unit was the recommended route.

Anyhow, good luck on the updates Lance!

Is that part # 8366 distributor? I may just be interested in it. I have the Pro Billet #85551 distributor which can also be controlled by ECU but I have to build my own harness for it. The 8366 is a plug n play deal.

Yes, Sir! I even have the Holley adapter to plug it into the Terminator harness! Everything is still brand new, never touched the engine. The thing I like about the MSD version is that it has an oil squirter to add extra lubrication to the timing gear.

Here's some links to the MSD/Holley items. I'll have to look up the part number on the AC Delco module I swapped out.

Have I ever mentioned before how much I hate headers on a street car?

https://photos.smugmug.com/1985-Mont..._103118-XL.jpg

I'm a bit out of practice, haven't had them off in 3 1/2 years and still took just two hours to get this far.

I was actually surprised at the condition of the header gaskets. These headers were not designed to use with raised port heads so we had to improvise to get them to work. I had some issues initially getting a gasket to seal up and work and this last set did pretty good. Only areas with signs of leakage were on # 6 and # 8 both due to bolts coming loose.

I bought a different set of gaskets this go around but now thinking I may go back with this part # again when it goes back together.

I'm not sure how this car was even running...by the look of the plugs...

3.5 years and about 5,000 very hard track miles on those plugs...the last part of that running very rich. It'll get a fresh set and fresh oil before it fires back up once again.

Lance,

NASA and ProAutoSports are both running a lot of events at Arizona Motorsports Park (AMP, near Luke AFB), in fact ProAuto is there this weekend. You should venture into road racing, even if it is HPDE for starters - you might not ever go back to AutoX. AMP is a lot like a big AutoX course anyway, and in Time Attack (or TT in NASA) you are running against the clock with the side benefit of getting to set up passes on cars that get in your way. A lot of fun! AMP has a 96 decibel sound limit, but I suspect you would pass. There is also a new track at Maricopa (down by Casa Grande) that now has members running on the new asphalt and is expected to open up for events soon. There are also the 4 courses at Wild Horse Pass - not quite as clean, but safe. Except for the real hot summer months, there are generally 2 events per month in the local area.

Oh I'm well aware Pappy!! I wanted to get a few more issues straightened up on the car before venturing back out to the road courses. In fact I paid for mondo at WHP last fall then couldn't make it so I have a credit waiting for me to use up.

My friends are up at Inde this weekend.

Nice lap. Inde is absolutely my favorite track in the area - great for the ACR and a lot of fun in my old NASA Spec Focus. The couple of blind corners make it sporty in places.
