Ha. You guys are killing me.... for the record, my car was painted as it stands today in 1999. :rules:
And now you're having me consider this..... again. http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...ps9acfd324.jpg |
Step away from the computer.

I saw this Mustang at Historics (yes, Laguna Seca) 2 years ago and the combo was very striking IMO. I liked it a lot and have considered it since. I go back and forth on it.

I like it !!!
here's another orange and blue |
Funny - My first impression of the rendering was 2 stripes don't work in orange.....I was thinking one........after it's running and sorted out of course.
Decal it, no paint - easy to change.......like curtains. :D |
yes! single wide but say no to the roof stripe.

What difference does a stripe make if it's just garage art....

Going to have agree with Greg on this one Dave. I think the Mona Lisa would have looked happier if someone would have rode her once in a while.LOL

Take your time Dave. Hope to have my fiberglass doors on before I have to start dealing with you :slingshot:

You know I have to ride you like a bad pony....
I really like that rendering with the double orange stripe and bob braga's (Bushwachers) plastic fender extensions.... Just do like JCG does and bondo those bad boys on. |
Fastest way to get the job done! :D
BTW- Thanks for saving my ass on the road rally this past weekend.. Quote:

Its progressing faster then mine. I think we all need somebody riding our behinds, keeps us moving, and it's just a plus that it makes me laugh.
I'm not going to lie, this latest group of cars being built, are going to be so wicked and stupidly fast that I can't wait to see them done, and beat on. |

WELCOME --- I'd do the same for anybody! LOL Was a fun rally -- and a fun weekend. Your driving has improved HUGE! Good job out there. |
Let's de-rail this thread more!
Thanks for the compliments on the driving! Now I can ask for the keys on the Lotus! Quote:

I feel somewhat responsible. If I would've just let you win at El Toro in 2012...:D

I could look around the plant though for some Bushwacker flares from a Ford F150 that might work on his Camaro. It looks like a Ford anyways. It will probably ride like a truck also. |

been busy, haven't been keeping up...
You are making some good progress! Going back about 7 pages and reviewing, I like the dual orange stripes with the blue v. the single so I say go for your rendering. Definitely adds dimension to the look of the car.
As for signals, find a 3-way toggle for the dash, neutral being off, with up and down for on, sorta like a lo-hi switch. Then just mount it sideways on the dash and hold it on for left and right. I put a button on the dash of the 914 for the horn. As little as you will use it on the street, simple buttons are good enough. That Butler seat can be reworked, or simply heated a bit and bent at those rib supports. Those containment seats are great - I wanted one in the 914 but it just simply didn't fit in that small of a car - I couldn't get in and out with it. Depending on how the Nova goes I have some padded "ears" for my Ultrashields that I can weld on. In your Camaro you should have no problem getting in and out with a removable wheel of course and having that additional head support should be great. That is some crazy exhaust! I agree with balancing after the mufflers to try to quiet it down a little more - you should be able to fit an X-pipe in that mix as it comes across behind your seat. I can't say I have done this and personally proven to myself the validity or know the difference, but have heard that it helps. Maybe it is only good for 1 or 2 dB but sometimes that is all you need. As for that Merc9 car, while it is cool to look at and I do think it is pretty interesting, don't do what he did. I ran 125-130 mph thru the sweeper and 165mph down the straight in the 914 with no aero, no cage or tubing, horrible 914 suspension, on the first track day after I first did the V8 conversion. Of course, I immediately disassembled the car and started a full chassis once I realized how crazy it was going to be :) Nonetheless, that car should be closer to 150mph in the sweeper with all of that work and aero, so again, don't do that :D Well, except for the sequential transmission - those are nice :whistling: |

I like that idea for the turn signal. Sounds like a street car to me. :rules: We thought about reworking the original Butler seat but I decided it was too pretty to cut up and found a buyer for it in less than a week. I then ordered one through Ron Sutton with his advice. It's nearly identical to the one Payton ordered and should be taking delivery of any day now.... Payton? :hello: Regarding the exhaust, I think the custom big box muffler we plan on getting made for that section the seat should do a pretty decent job of quieting it down. We shall find out. :) Agreed on an X or H pipe... but just don't see the room there. No huge deal. And Tim I love that last paragraph -- total stream of consciousness right there. :headspin: :D |
Still waiting on the call. Guessing it will be next week before the seats are ready.
I did get a big freakin' wing yesterday...you will have wing envy now. LOL |

Nothing worse than wing envy..... |
