As always, the fab is looking great, Ron! Where did you source the blue exh. insulators?

Thanks!

They came from Speedway Motors, if I remember right they are available in a couple colors

The blue ones last the longest. Seriously.

The one time when high and tight on the cage was a bad thing. The engine is back so far, and the dash bar so tight, their was absolutely no room for wipers or linkage.

The AMX was originally equipped with vacuum wipers which was located about where the middle of the intake manifold is now.The engineering involved in making this happen was extensive. Used Fox body Mustang wiper motor because I thought it would be readily available, all the rest of the mechanism was custom. The park position was another challenge because the motor was designed for the PCM to park it.

A lot of work but the modern motor work way better then anything old.

Wipers done finally putting a firewall in it. a lot of little panels makes it super time consuming.

The real issue though is where am I going to cram a rear sway bar. Real estate is at such a premium, I fear its going to end up inside the car.

I find I spend half my time designing stuff that is faster, lighter, stronger, safer, etc ...

and the other half of my time making stuff fit!

I feel your pain Ron. :bang:

Closing large gaps make Mango happy. The bolt on body might have been a mistake. Way too time consuming, and it adds weight. Too late now, I'll have to finish.

Progress looks awesome, Ron! All of the paneling work is coming out super clean!

Too bad about the bolt on being heavier. I am trying more of a tab on body that will allow freedom during construction and then be permanent at the end of construction. This is my inspiration!
