Yeah it wouldn't be too bad. I am thinking about just buying a hood and throwing a quick paint job on it and reselling it if too many parts required to get it on the road are missing. What color should I go with? Blue, green or black? The thought of owning a third red car doesn't sit too well with me.

Interior? We don't need no stinkin' interior....

Trey -- Without seats and stuff - you're right - it's something to dicker about --- and with no interior - it allows you to kinda go real "pro touring" with it - grab a couple of bucket seats - maybe do a roll bar/cage with 5 point harness etc -- you could go "rat rod Pro tour" and have a whole new genre of car build going!! Make the interior "race car basic" - switches with flip covers - or maybe just toggles... after market gauges in custom simple race car dash...

Serious!

If the car is going to be yours, take a long hard look at it and think about doing this one up the way you would want it. The chance to get another might not come along too soon and it would make a killer project. Double check the rust factor though.
If you get it and decide to keep it long term I think a nice darker metallic blue would look good. Send me your email in a PM and I will show you a really cool factory color.

Trey -- Don't listen to him ^^^^^^ !! Panther PINK!!!!:woot:

Don't listen to me either ---- I once painted a canoe "Dull Dead Grass Green" - yep! That's the real name of the paint!

TreySmith 01-02-2010 06:14 PM

They actually painted one panther pink at the shop I work, I saw it at a car show and it actually looked good! I forgot about plum purple, but yeah I am thinking blue would be good for this. The owner of the place I had my tranny rebuilt has a blue 70 HEMI challenger, it's so cool. It's got a bunch of oddball options like auto on the column and stuff like that.

I've seen a couple of yard rotters up here in Snohomish County that would plain old dissapear if they were painted Dead Grass Green.....

Pink, uh it's your car man....

Email sent with pics Trey.

Man, choosing a color is going to be so hard.. I sent you a few pics of a car that has the perfect color 70rs. I think I need to wait until I get the car first though lol.

Yeah, paint is last. If you want to do get an overall design idea cool, but don't waste any time worrying about color too much yet. I will take a look at the pics. Thanks! Did you like that blue color?

TreySmith 01-02-2010 07:45 PM

Yup, looks great! The color will probably be somewhere between your pics and the one I sent. Now I just have to find some good rims to match it..

All I know is that this car is going to be LOUD, as loud and mean as friggen possible! Like straight headers loud lol.

whatever color you do ...stay with the factory "Mopar" tones - that is part of the factor that makes mopars so cool ( yes every make had a handful - ford had the grabber colors and gm had the orange ect but mopar nailed them)
