It was good seeing you again as well. Sorry I split so quick I wasnt in a very car mood after I got the news.

As for the fenders Im not sure what I'm going to do yet, Ill let you know which way I go with it. I did just place an order Toe boards to trunk pan. It should be here this week.

I'll be building a car/Jig this week hopefully if I can get some time. Hopefully I'll have the pans in soon. It seems like I've been talking about doing that for a year now(wait I have been).

Cart/Jig

So I have been tinkering on Paint.... I dont have access to a CAD program( probably overkill anyway). I came up with this fairly simple(for me) design for a Cart. I have seen some plans floating around but wanted to try my own. My main problem is how to account for the rear clip. For now Im going to install the floors and do the rear clip after the trunk is installed. I would like to find a way to attach it to my cart, however I'm not sure there is even a point.

It's paint... dont be too harsh, it may be hard to read.

while throwing some weld through primer on the rails of the AME clip,I heard the growl of a Diesel. Yesterday I recieved a call from a frieght company asking if a Semi could fit in my neighbor hood, I told them most straight trucks have problems. I look out to see a Semi with a 48' trailer squeezing between cars.

we ended up getting him to the house, and got the parts unloaded. all the floors arived in good condition. there is one extra brace on the main floor pan which i'm not sure what that is I'll take some better pics tomorrow. I'm guessing it for a convertible.

Nice load of parts
I think that brace your talking about with the cage nut is where the sub frame bolts to. My hardtop had it too.

Update of the day..... I made my way to the local metal distributor today, and picked up two 24' 3x2 11ga tubing and one 24' 1x1 11ga square stock. When I got home I started to build my cart. Not the elaborate plans I made I went super simple (hopefully it does the job).

After getting the main box tack welded together and square I ran out of wire for my Mig. Made a trip to Northern Tool and picked up the wire and some caster wheels.

I ended up getting it together after a lot of head scratching, sweating and measuring and re-measuring. Then came the fun part.

I chose not to take any pictures of me moving the car onto the cart, because I was worried it could fall at any time. With the more 2x2's and 4x4's and jack stands than I care to mention I ended up getting it on for the night.

Tomorrows plan is to get the car squared up on the cart, and final the rockers to the cart to keep the car where I want it. Then brace the inside of the car with the 1x1 square. Then out with the floors:willy:

here are some crappy Iphone pics I'll get the camera out tomorrow.

Once I get the car where I want it I'll add in a rear brace to keep the trunk from sagging

So the doors are braced, and I rough cut the floor out. I left about 1/2 inch by the spot welds. I need to invest in a spot weld remover. I have a couple step drill bits, and some bits that work pretty well for spot welds.

I went through all of my cutting discs for my grinder and almost threw my battery powered dewalt kit into the street. The batteries weren't holding a charge for more than 10 minutes. I'll give it another shot tomorrow, they have all night to charge if not I'm going to pick up some tools with cord.

I only had time to take a couple of pics (iphone) before the sun went down. My Camera is also dead....which goes to show anything battery operated will fail when you need it.

I removed the floorpan spot welds and started on the passenger toe board
