Great progress. Did you modify the stock gauge panel to fit your new gauges, or did you end up fabricating an all new piece to hold them? Looks nice and clean by the way.
|
Thanks! It's the stock plastic gauge cluster but heavily modified. Originally it had three smaller gauges and heater controls in it. I basically cut everything out and bonded an aluminum plate to the face, then laid out and cut new holes for the gauges. Sounds simple but I have far too much time into it.

Moving along nicely. I really like that you're putting so much of the factory trim and parts back on the outside.

Thanks! The trim is another part of the character of these Jeeps, it just has to be there.

Pieced together a roof rack and rub strip set today and got those on. Polished up what's left of the paint on the roof. Patina for days.

Looks a ton better without bundles of wire everywhere. And I finally broke down and bought the Aeromotive fuel rails. The factory setup just seemed really janky deadheading into one rail and piggybacking the other off of it. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psjzdz7qnb.jpg |
Pretty much everything I've been doing is small stuff lately so I haven't had the need to update. Pulled the engine/trans a lot of times to take care of all kinds of minor details. Cleaned up and painted a lot of stuff, etc. I got the wastegate piping finished so that's a plus. I also got the cage for the fuel cell welded up, you can see it in the first picture. I'll update with more pictures when it's finished. I'm going to make it work with the factory fuel fill.

Been a bit of a struggle working one handed but I managed to get the carpet and interior in. Also touched up a few things under the hood. Getting somewhere for a change.

It looks good in there.

Holy smokes!!! Thats going to be insane!! Great build, looking forward to seeing its progress.

Been working on a bunch of stuff but the fuel tank is really the only one with visible progress.
Bought Holley Hydramat, shouldn't have any issues sucking air. Also figured out the fittings for my dual Walbro 255s. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps2jna6dpr.jpg Made a plate with barbs to hook up to the stock fuel filler and a fuel level sender. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psk8bsneyh.jpg Cage complete minus mounts and paint. Also added a return line fitting to the tank. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps1jpx5gaw.jpg Also, Holley finally released flex fuel capability with the V4 update so I got a sensor and a badge. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...pszzzogcaa.jpg |
