That car has a KILLER Ora around it what a ride! What is the ride height going to be.

well 39 pages and what seems like forever later I must say I am nothing short of impressed. Jason told me about the car, and I have seen little blips of it here and there but the work is simply astonishing. Awesome work guys.

 I just gotta say Thank you.
Looking at this thread has helped me stretch my imagineative ideas for some of my Mopar projects. Thank you for keeping this thread alive with updated pics.:D The build is flat out inspirational on many levels. The craftsmanship in the details is OUTSTANDING. :hail: |
Sweet! Nice to get that taken care of...I know it's been a concern for quite a while! Thanks for the update!

A Few overdue updates -
A friend of mine (who happens to be a professional off road photographer) stopped by a few weeks ago and snapped some pics... http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...n/_DSC5481.jpg http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...n/_DSC5484.jpg http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...n/_DSC5483.jpg http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...n/_DSC5515.jpg http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...n/_DSC5499.jpg http://s158.photobucket.com/albums/t108/powdr7/Bruning Auto Design/ |

On to the accessory drive - or lack there of. Space is at a premium, so each component has a small window for fitment. The other challenge was fabricating brackets that allow for pump removal without disassembling half the car.
The brackets for the A/C pump are removable on the top and bottom so that the pump can be removed without pulling the engine and or removing the oil lines from the block off adapter. The first production Meziere electric late model hemi water pump also arrived. Contact Meziere for additional information www.meziere.com http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...pdates018.jpg/http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...pdates018.jpg/http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/5...updates018.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://img585.imageshack.us/img585/3...updates020.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/2...updates015.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://www.garagescene.net/gallery2/...pdates+020.JPG |
WOW:bow:

The Ididit steering column arrived last week - very impressed with the build quality, fit, and finish.
Ididit built a custom aluminum tilt column for the Challenger but retained some of the Mopar styling cues - such as the column adapter. Went with a brushed aluminum finish with clear powder coat. Ididit also sent us their column drop bracket, floor mount, and Borgeson u-joint. www.ididit.com http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/833...updates015.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/4...updates022.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://www.garagescene.net/gallery2/...pdates+029.JPG |
Tim machined mounting brackets for the seats.

Holy crap Tim, that is just sick to look at. very impressive.
|
I love this build :unibrow:

Simple Incredible and Inspirational
Man that thing is incredible |
Tim,
Looks great. The Meziere unit compliments the motor plate perfectly. Dave |
Looks great !!!!!!!!!!!
ALSO LOOKS SO CLOSE..BUT SO FAR FROM BEING DONE. I would love to know the hrs and money invested into this project . Is this a customers car or your own ? What other cars have you guys done? Again very , very nice and a inspirational build ! |
Looking great as always! Nice to see more progress...little by little my friend....it's going to all worth it, hell it already is!!
|
I love the outside-of-the-box thinking on how/where to mount the engine accessories!!!!!!
Seeing the car with a steering wheel and seats is cool. Keep the pics coming. --Eric |

I am guessing the motor is solid mounted? It would have to be since accessories are bolted to the frame.
|
Yeah, I know they have the engine solid mounted. I didn't think the frame mounted access. would work if it wasn't though. I think you are supporting the fact that it wouldn't.
BTW- This project continues to amaze me! |
I thought the big aluminum motor plate would of given away the fact that it was solid mounted.

Has anyone frame mounted accessories successfully with an engine that is not solid mounted? I realize that this isn't directly related to this project, just a question that popped into my head, so I should probably have save this thread from the derailment that inadvertently caused. |

Sorry - back on topic! |
Not positive on this but Rad Rides Nova. mounted the supercharger to the frame and not sure if the motor is mounted solid or not.
|
But a Cog belt doesn not need the tension that a Serp belt does.

even with a cog belt you need the engine solid mounted - I have my dry sump pump attached directly to the frame in my race car and the engine solid mounted, but also have the alternator with a simple V-belt mounted.
Agreed that a cog belt runs pretty loose (I slip my 225mm belt on and off by hand to prime the engine with a drill) and serp belts need tension, but if it is solid mounted it will work no problem (there will be enough motion in the tensioner if the belt length is chosen wisely), but in no way would I soft mount an engine with frame mounted accessories, regardless of belt system. Can sorta see the setup in this pic, at least of the alternator. It is pretty common to chassis mount accessories to make removal and so forth easier and whenever real estate is at a premium. See it all the time in off-road vehicles. Tim has clearly built a ton of sweet cars so nothing new to him  Always amazed with this build! |

The symmetry is what I love about this thing. Beautiful to look at.
|
:hail: Awesome Tim!! :hail:
|
