Good Morning All,

There is going to be two updates this week as i plan to work all day Saturday on the truck

Wanted to do something different for a steering Stop.
Dave came up with a pretty cool idea don't ya think.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_17_028.jpg

Just some Quick Picks of the Intercooler Piping

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_17_030.jpg

All the Hose, V-Bands and Connections were supplied by Jim at:

www.hightempsilicone.com

He makes some really nice stuff and it's not the cheap stuff you find on Ebay.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_17_031.jpg

You can also see the Intercooler which was custom built by Gerhard at:
www.bellintercoolers.com

Turn around time was less then a week and the Quality is top notch

syborg tt 08-18-2006 09:50 AM

Just another Quick Shot of all the Stainless Piping from:
www.stainlessworks.net

Need to Create the Inner Fenders & Air Boxes this weekend

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_17_034.jpg

Your not going to believe it i found an Upper Radiator Hose that Works
Now if i could just find a lower hose

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_17_035.jpg

Just a quick shot of the Rear Suspension Stop.
I still need to pay Troy for this.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_17_036.jpg

That's all for today more to come over the weekend

black2002ls 08-18-2006 07:08 PM

The second Tuesday of Next Week.

Actually my goal has been the Detroit Autorama in 07 and yes my fingers are really really crossed

syborg tt 08-19-2006 09:19 PM

Happy Saturday Night,

What started out as a very productive day didn't end so well.
Just remember Listen to the Voices in your Head they are there for a Reason!

Yep, found a Lower Radiator Hose that actual works.
It's hard to believe it actual follows the curves of the Frame.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_19_001.jpg

Installed the new Fiberglass Cladding.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_19_002.jpg

If you are thinking about adding really cool ground effects to your s10.
You need to contact Scott @ www.syclone-typhoon.com

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_19_004.jpg

Yep missing the last piece of cladding this is where my day ended.
Seems I felt the necessary urge to run a 1/4" drill bit 1" deep into the pad of my left Hand.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_19_005.jpg

So my day ended early with a trip to the emergency room to make sure I
didn't have any metal in my hand and a tetanus shot just in case.

More to come later in the week once I can use my hand again.
And remember when the little voice tells you that you should move your hand - Listen!

black2002ls 08-20-2006 07:51 AM

Looking good. Bummer about the hand. Best of luck in the healing process!

Man i forgot how bad a tetnus shot feels for the next couple day's after.

syborg tt 08-23-2006 08:11 PM

Happy Wednesday Night.

Stop by the shop to play with some inner fender design and look at the air box.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_23_055.jpg

Hard to tell from the picture but we are going to draw air in from the the indicators.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_23_056.jpg

This gives you an idea of the arc were trying to fit acheive in the inner fenders

syborg tt 08-29-2006 08:06 AM

Well, it was another Good Day - No blood or trips to the Hospital.

I was able to get the last piece of Cladding on the truck without hurting myself and I used the drill.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_26_001.jpg

Finished all of the fittings for the Fuel System

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_26_004.jpg

Jared was Kind enough to send me some Kick Panel Speaker Pods.
I'm going to have to build something similar with a smaller speaker to clear the roll bar.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_26_007.jpg

You can kind of get an idea of what i am going for

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_26_010.jpg

Hard to tell from the side but this will have rounded or rolled sides

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_26_011.jpg

syborg tt 08-29-2006 08:07 AM

Quick shot of the drivers side leaving the turbo

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_26_014.jpg

The drivers side has more of a Curve in it & i think it looks better - Opinions

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_26_016.jpg

That's all for this week

black2002ls 08-30-2006 05:46 AM

Keep the inner fenders under the turbos awith some clearance.
That way the inner fenders won't get so hot and it will give you clearence to work on the engine if you need to and it lets you see more of the engine.
Just my .02 cents

Long week and even a Longer Weekend.
Hung out at the waterpark with the kids and swallowed more chlorine then I want to admit.

Last week Robert from the Pro-Touring Forum made a suggestion.
So I took his advice and built yet another set of inner fenders.
He was right it cleaned up the engine bay and will make life much easier if I ever have to work on this thing.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_02_010.jpg

I was able to get the rear bumper mounted.
We are going to have to pie cut the rear corner cladding to make it fit better.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_02_001.jpg

Mounted the Tailgate with the second set of hinges (Genuine GM) and the tailgate doesn't fit any better then it did with the LMC Truck Hinges that were a 4th the price.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_02_003.jpg

syborg tt 09-04-2006 08:37 PM

Dusted some paint on the radiator cover.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_02_013.jpg

That's all for this week.

black2002ls 09-05-2006 05:08 AM

looking good marty

syborg tt 09-05-2006 08:16 AM

Going back to the original concept of the truck being a Factory Prototype - these make more sense.

I would like to Thank Flaming Rivers for looking at my Project and offer to Sponsor us.

You can visit them at http://www.flamingriver.com/

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...ming_River.jpg

Steve was kind enough to recommend the right steering box for my project.

The ratio is 14 to 1 which is more then I'll ever use on the Power Tour

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_07_002.jpg

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_07_003.jpg

That's all for this week as I didn't have time to work on the truck this week.
The good news is Dave worked on it for me.

syborg tt 09-15-2006 12:09 PM

Good Day to All,

Stopped by the Shop with my Dad last night he wanted to see the truck in person instead of pictures.
He said looks good just don't tell your wife how much you've spent.

I installed the new Flaming Rivers Steering Box and let me say it was on in 10 minutes.
It's nice having compatible parts. Everything fit perfect.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_14_001.jpg

The Bed Floor is almost complete should be ready to go to the body guy in 2 weeks

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_14_002.jpg

We closed up the back panels - just to clean it up a little

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_14_003.jpg

We needed to add a little metal to the back corners so we mount the cladding.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_14_006.jpg

This is the last Panel needed to be completed. Then the bed is done

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_14_005.jpg

syborg tt 09-18-2006 08:32 AM

Good Day All,

I headed over to VFN Fiberglass on Saturday to look at the Mold that they made for the Rockers.

www.vfnfiberglass.com

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_16_001.jpg

We added a 1/4" to each side of the Rocker so they would actually be long enough.
From the Factory they were about a 1/2" shy and since we are making everything else so nice we might as well fix this.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_16_003.jpg

ProTouring442 09-18-2006 08:56 AM

VFN, eh? I hope you have better luck with their stuff then I did! I've seen fewer air bubbles in a glass of Alka-Seltzer.

I heard this before. I looked at alot of there piece and they look nice. I know they have tried to change that image and have worked very hard to clean up there stuff. The good news is they are only 15 minutes from my house so i can easily check on there progress.

As nasty as that Buick must be hanging the front tires on the track, how sick would it be hammered down on a set of 19" H.R.E.s with some big huge brakes and the underpinnings to drive it in anger around some corners. Just keep it off full boost in the apexes!

Oh, and the truck is BAD TO THE BONE, Marty. Amazing job and thanks for the updates. You give us something to aspire to.

Hmmm.... too bad they didn't do this a few years ago! Ahh well, maybe I'll call on them to make molds of my current bumpers if I ever need new ones. Assuming you have good luck! Please let us know how this goes.

i just finnished going through all 36 pages of progress so far. all i can say is damn there is a lot of fabrication into that truck. You should make your own build book for that truck.

One question, were did you get you black braded hose and black fittings??, those are bad ass.

Summit has them... called something-lite or some such. Easy to work with too, I'm using it on my car. It has a cloth braid so it won't tear up anything it comes in contact with.
