that's cool Marty. Had another guy send me a link to pics of it on Power Tour 05, along with the Mule and the yellow Chevelle Scott and I drove for Steve Sandlin. Great memories.

Jody the piping looks GREAT! I love the coating it really flows with the theme. Is the coating a ceramic or powder? Does it have a heat rating?

Jeff

this is a high temp header coating, rated to 1800-2000 degrees as I remember.

Hooked up the throttle this morning. I own a tig, but can't weld with it................... so I bought a Lokar cable mount and built a bracket to attach it to the fuel rail support. Turned out nice. The cable has a bit of an angle to it, but that's how the Lokar mount is built, and was the only way it was going to fit.

Looks nice, is that a universal part or LS2 specific? Are we getting close to firing it up? :unibrow:

that's a universal TPI piece that Lokar sells. It's close, got to mount the coils and fill the fluids. It turns out the coils I have will be very difficult to mount the way I wanted to, so I'm trying to find some stock LS2 units.

Waiting on my trans pan (UPS mis-directed it), waiting on some hose clamps and connectors for the turbo stuff (be here Tuesday), waiting for my a/c condenser, waiting, waiting, waiting......................

Well, better to have stuff on order/ in the brown truck, than forget and not have it on order at all! That's my positive thinking for the day!!

By the pace you work we then can expect a movie by the end of the week when you start it up.:unibrow: :unibrow:

Looking good Jody

got my front support panel back from the painter (thanks Jim!!!) so now the front end can be finished. Added some Marquez Design hood stops (these are very nice!), finished off most of my Ring Bros. bolts, and fitted the front grille and trim. Only thing left is the bumper, and I'll need a helper for that.

As a side note, you Camaro guys don't know how good you have it with the reproduction parts. The 64 Chevelle stuff is in many cases horrible; quality is crap, very disappointing. All I can get though.

Here's the front of the car, minus bumper. Getting close, should be firing it this Friday/Saturday.

This car truly has an awesome look to it and the work your doing is incredble. I can't wait to see with Bumpers on it.

Boulder69 04-30-2008 07:50 AM

Jody,

Car looks great. Just last night I dug out the old PHRs with the Malitude builds just to remember what it was like before. You changed the few things I didn't really like about the first version, like color, wheels, and spindles.

Speakin' of, could we get some pics of the front wheels with the Vintage Wheel Works, AFX spindles, and Touring Classics brakes? I have the spindles and brakes but really want to make sure the V40s will fit. Maybe an angle that shows the caliper clearance to the backside of the spokes? If you happen to know the wheel specs I would be interested in that as well even though I know what I need for my 1st gen. I think.

7TSS 04-30-2008 10:47 AM

Things seem to be moving along well. Keep up the great work.

Great job! This is the best looking Malibu I have ever seen! R u taking the car to the Good Guys show in the end of May?

camcojb 04-30-2008 03:39 PM

ok, moved the remote filter. Had to build a brace out of 3/16" strap to bolt to the edge of the inner fender to stiffen it up; mounted the filter on that brace and the lower fender brace, completely protected by the bumper when I get it installed.

Jody

theres about 3/8" clearance between the outside of the calipers and the wheel. About 1/8" between the front upper edge of the calipers and the face of the wheel. I think these are 4.75" b.s., but not positive.

Well there's no denying it now, Jody...you have a great eye for design. That has to be the most beautiful '64 Malibu on the planet. Nice work and congrats. Looking forward to the pics from HRPT.
