I was able to drive the Dragon a few days ago...:willy: Just amazing!

She handles like a dream.

Oh come on, you have to give us more than that. We already knew it would handle amazingly well. Driving a car like this is like a semi-religious experience, and all you had to say was amazing :unibrow:

I stopped by to look at it a couple of times at SEMA, and it is stunning! I don't think you ever posted any interior shots, and when I saw the interior in person I was amazed with the design and finish textures, etc that make up the dash.

THAT CAR IS AMAZING! My favorite at SEMA....

my only problem was...I almost tripped over the shag carpet and would have landed on the front fender...huge camera and all--man, my life flashed before my eyes- :_paranoid

I think I saw you. I was freaking as well. But believe me when I say I can move fast and you would have landed on me instead. :faint:

Shakers

ok, as I promised more build pictures.
On some website someone posted the car was cool but why did they use plastic covers over that nice engine...:(
I was shocked at first then I remembered that heck they are flawless so who could really tell but the pure motor heads like us.

So here is the build up of the shakers.

Many hours into the steel hood. I'm amazed how seamless it looks in person. Carbon was not a good option for me with the combined heat from the engine & AZ sun.

tones2SS 11-18-2010 05:22 PM

Awesome pics of the hood build.
Car came out amazing.

strtlegal 11-19-2010 08:23 AM

I've always been curious on a build like this, but when will you get the car back to Arizona? I know it will be at Goodguys this weekend but I'm sure there will a tour or what a year or so before you can bring the car home, so when will you bring it home? I've always been curious as to how this works, and I know not every build is the same just curios about this one since its in my home town..

Look forward to seeing it this weekend.

You're correct it will go on a tour. I have a home not far from the Ring Brothers as well so I'm sure I'll have it soon.

Mothers invited the Dragon back to SEMA in 2011 so it will be there!

Thanks for all the kind words.

ModernMuseum 11-21-2010 06:23 AM

The huge blocks of aluminum on the C&C was insane. Thanks for posting the build photos. That is one amazing machine.

I was told Jim Ring was smiling from ear to ear the whole time he was driving the DRAGON on the track. Found a couple small issues but will be resolved pretty quick.

is one of those issues stiffer springs?

JKnight 06-14-2011 03:06 PM

I think Mike may have been referring to the body roll moreso than wheel travel. It does seem to have a lot of roll given the speeds under which the pics were taken.

Car looks great in motion.

No. Wheel articulation was fine. I was told it was a bolt rubbing on the inner wheel hoop.

Corrected bolt and replaced the hoops...all is great!
