Also, you can see where the ride height can be adjusted up or down by moving the rear control arm mounting points.

Lastly, here are a few pics of how well the frame tucks and hides up under the body. This part of the frame will be hid when the rear, wheel wells are built.

This part of the frame will be hid when the front fender is on.

This is the rocker and there is no "hang down". :lmao: No pun intended!

That's all for now guys. Sorry to bore y'all to death, but I heard y'all liked pics.

I'm so bored... yawn.... what were we talking about....

Che70velle 03-08-2013 09:21 PM

I love the idea of adjusting the track width. That's genius. But I can't wrap my mind around the axle length...do they have a slip type yoke, or adjustable length in some way? Marcus, the ride height is perfect!:trophy-1302:

waynieZ 03-08-2013 09:27 PM

Not boring at all, I'm loving it.

HEEP 03-09-2013 03:58 AM

Awesome update Marcus. That chassis is amazing. Good thinking on the adjustable track width. Is this a first? Don't think I have ever heard of that.

Of course, you know everyone here loves pictures. Thanks for showing us what is going on.

Scott, if you're familiar with the C5/C6 spindle, the end of the axle goes thru a spindled hub. At the end of the axles, they are threaded and a large nut screws onto the end. Well, my builder ordered the axles about an 2" longer to accomodate going outward with the track width. As you can see from the pic with the lower control arm, there are four holes. Making the track width adjustable outward up to 4". But, of course we know I'll never adjust outward 4".

I think it is a first Heep. I have never seen any of the other chassis builders do it. Not saying that it's the invention of the light bulb or anything, but I have never seen it with any of the modern, muscle car chassis builders.

Vince@Meanstreets 03-16-2013 10:38 PM

very nice, don't forget you can shim the body for fine adjustments.

coolwelder62 03-17-2013 07:54 AM

Marcus, You would have to show us your cool chevelle chassis. Now I must start over on mine.  Very Nice.

Thanks Scott, by the way, how's the C10 chassis development coming along?

The trunk fab work continues guys. Got all the panels made and pre-fitted...well, uh...test fitted. However, the saying goes. Welding will begin shortly. But, before that the next thing to do is to put the design work on the panels with the bead roller. Some of the pics are in the sunlight because it was outside to move other cars around the shop and I wasn't gonna get the guys to pull the car inside for a couple of pics. But here are a few good one too.

Also, we got the rear brake rotors on to double check and adjust the track width to make sure the tubs fit correctly. Also, the pic of the wheel is the not the ride height. We lowered the suspension travel down to it's lowest point in order to build the arch of the tubs.

Che70velle 03-30-2013 11:15 AM

Looks sweet Marcus! Guys are doing a great looking job. What are your plans for a rear seat? Are you doing a bar, or cage in the car?

Scott, I may have to do away with my back seat because of the notch. If I do, I will run a Ride Tech Tiger Cage and build my custom stereo system back there.

214Chevy 06-11-2013 07:47 PM

Not to much going on lately. Bead rolling work has begun though. On the back piece in the first pic, you can see where the center bead rolled triangle is a little off-center to the right. I told my builder that was okay. He offered to redo it and I told him no need. It's going to get covered up anyway. I'm not leaving it exposed.

Rick, hopefully, I want to be riding by this time next year Rick. Only for pics, because first I had to get the chassis. Now that I have the chassis, the next big obstacle is the RHS motor. Not east buying a motor when the block alone is nearly $5k. :buttkick: Just about, almost got it wrapped up too. So, please be patient with me suh. LOL!! :whenitsdone:
