The owner was looking for a new dash and interior with the goal to emulate the look and feel of a European sports car. The rear 'seat' area will become more of a luggage area similar to the back of a Porsche/Ferrari which will also house the audio setup.

And of course the Pantera! We have a few Pantera fans here at the shop who were pretty excited to see it come out of the trailer...
As mentioned, we received the car like this from another shop which will be doing the full build on it. We are in the beginning the stages of an IRS chassis for it, I'll post chassis pics as it comes together. http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...2/DSC_0054.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ture223578.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ture223584.jpg |
Nice project!
Glad to see you guys protecting the windshield! I made the mistake of using a cut off wheel (when cutting out the floors) of my brother in laws Camaro -- and the sparks/debris RUINED a brand new windshield... :faint: I learned something from that... :D |
We also have a double dose of Biscayne/Impala chassis projects.
The white '60 Impala is waiting it's turn in the showroom for now... http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...2/DSC_0003.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...2/DSC_0094.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...2/DSC_0108.jpg ...while the blue Biscayne receives one of our 58-64 FAST TRACK IRS chassis to compliment the LS9 motor! http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...2/DSC_0109.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...2/DSC_0113.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...2/DSC_0036.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...2/DSC_0061.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...S9BISCAYNE.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ture224059.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ture224118.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ture224176.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...2/DSC_0019.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...20%2012/sd.jpg |
Very nice work guys. I prefer version 1 of the firebird hood.

We also (you guys are getting a MEGA-update today) have another '67 Chevelle with a FAST TRACK IRS chassis and LS combo underway: (More build pics HERE)

We will be doing a custom chassis and firewall/engine bay. (More pics HERE ) http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...2012/cad11.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...2012/cad13.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ture224366.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...63caddylow.jpg ...also, a '40 Olds chassis build (additional pics HERE) http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ture224079.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ture224084.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ture224105.jpg |
We also just finished up a couple of chassis for Cope Customs: the first was a 66 Lincoln and the second was an IRS C-10 chassis set up for a 572 engine.

The chassis is our production C-10 FAST TRACK chassis - http://www.roadstershop.com/products...ick-up-chassis Cope Customs ordered this one with the IRS setup. In addition to the chassis specs in the link above, you can check out the IRS system here - http://www.roadstershop.com/products...dent-rear-unit Also a nice little write up from Chevy Hardcore recently on the chassis: http://www.chevyhardcore.com/news/ro...ling-fortress/ |

I have to start checking this thread more often. The Panteras and the Biscayne/Impala builds are cool if you are into great lines or classic iron, but the 75 Firebird is where it's at. I have a 74 and these are the forgotten years. I am hoping you can pull off one of those hood concepts. The one that is on there now has too much going on.

The hood is one that we were racking our brains on. The customer had to have the shot gun style, forward facing Firebird scoops because he had a 75 Firebird in high school. The car came in with the Firebird scoops and the T/A shaker hood scoop. It was the first time we had seen that done before... The car had a 502 in it and the entire carb was through the hood with the stock GM intake and a small air cleaner on top of it. That was the reason for the shaker hood. The new build has a 572 with a higher intake, nitrous plate kit, and needs a sizable air cleaner on top of it. So, we are dealing with 15 lbs in a 5 lb bag! Having the forward facing scoops really makes the rest of the hood complicated since it needs to be raised about 6 inches in the center to clear the carb. We will see how things progress once we get into it! |
