Soon enough. It will be low, It will very understated, It will have lots of big body mods and it will have 900-1000hp using a Chevrolet crate engine.

Thank you very much. The whole team in the shop did a great job. The customer says the drive of this car rivals his ZL1 Camaro but looks way cooler.

Looks great in these pics... car must be such a head turner in person.

IMO the '70 Chevelle is one of the best looking Chevy designs ever.

Rodger and crew ...you have stylishly enhanced it highlighted by the 'stance of the year'.

Thanks. Like I have always said it is not the nicest car we have ever built since it has 15 year old paint and vinyl top but man does that car get some attention. Head turner for sure.

Thanks again.

Scott, Rodger said upwards of 1000 hp. I don't think the new LT has enough aftermarket support to get to that level yet. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. And, I'm pretty sure the stock stuff can't support that much. But, I don't anything, I'm just saying.

Funny you should say that. So was the customer. He really wants to do a 69 with the LT1 engine. Chevrolet is being very tight with those engines and when they might be available.

Great job Ironworks!

The car looks amazing. Normally I'm not a fan of red interior but you guys nailed this one. GJ!

Thanks. The interior turned out great. The car was an original black on red interior car. That is why it was the customers favorite in his collection.

LS7 Z/28 11-27-2013 03:58 PM

Looks good, I'm just getting into the LS Engines and now you are all talking about moving to the new platform LT1. This is never ending. :drowninga:

They say a picture is worth a 1000 words.

Nothing hangs below the chassis, the car is slammed and is fully drivable at this height. Man I miss this car already.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Che70velle 12-04-2013 03:12 PM

That settles it then. You should build one for yourself, and allow us to watch via the build thread. I never get tired of pictures of this car. It is exceptional.
Maybe only one tweak I'd do is a roll bar, or even a semi hidden cage.
Thanks for the pic!
And I thought a picture is worth a thousand words?

I love this car. It makes me want to put a vinyl top on a car just because no one ever does it.

Right now all is right between you and the universe Rodger.

So I'd be careful in throwin' Al's name around like that.

From the beginning big fan of the work of Ironworks!

Tom.A 01-06-2014 10:07 PM

Man this car turned out nice:thumbsup:
I went by the Stitch x stitch interior shop today to see about an estimate as I live in the same town but the girl that answered the door said they moved to Texas? Is that true? I also ripped off my front air dam on DD in the drive way :bitchslap:
I was really thinking about putting some carpet in my chevelle LOL! Ron Mangus actually lives in my neighborhood on next street over but don't know him but I heard is high end stuff and has waiting list so he must be good.

Yeah Jan moved to Texas. Avoid Ron as His work looks good from the outside but looks like a jr high arts and crafts project on the back side. We had to get two cars he did for us reworked. I hear lot better stuff about Gabes in San Bernadino.

Tom.A 01-06-2014 10:46 PM

Thanks for the tip.

ironworks 02-04-2014 08:28 AM

Check out the June issue of the Popular Hot Rodding with the Fairway Chevrolet 1970 Chevelle on the cover of the issue with a full studio feature of the car inside. It should hit the news stands on April 2, 2014.

Here is a crappy Cell phone picture of the car for the photo soot yesterday with Rob McGaffin.

Congratulations.

fleet 02-04-2014 08:55 AM

Congrats Rodger.

ironworks 02-04-2014 09:27 AM

Thanks Guys. This car is not a show car so being shot in a studio was kinda ironic for the car to say the least. The cool thing is that Hot Rod is still interested in running the car in a flog test at some point I guess which is what this car was intended for in the first place. Hopefully that comes through as the customer would love to have a car in Hot Rod still.

fleet 02-04-2014 01:17 PM

Rodger,

I remember you posting the paint was not new by any means.

That would be cool if HRM flogs it.

15 years old or more with quite a few touch ups over the year from different incidents you might say.

tones2SS 02-04-2014 04:46 PM

Congrats Rodger. That is probably my favorite that came out of Ironworks. Awesome indeed.
Is this your car or does someone else own it?

Fairway Chevrolet in Las Vegas Nevada owns the car.
