Ummm...:bump: :D

Oh buddy.... You don't have to worry about real actual PROGRESS on my builds --- there's something being done on my stuff every single day.... start to finish. The Briz just isn't big on taking pics or updating his website. Frankly - I don't really care... his work is superb... he's working off an actual credit balance (I pay WAY up front)... he knows exactly what I want built - and his shop is more than capable.... Having said all that... I have no idea what it's current state is. I would have seen him this weekend but I canceled the L A Roadster Show trip due to Rudy having knee surgery yesterday. :buttkick: |
Quote:
Hope all's well with the surgery and see you next trip... |

I, of course, would have stopped in the shop on the way south... but now that's out. I'll send him an email and see if he can get me an update. I do know that it was an all hands on deck in order to get a car up and done for Vic Edelbrock. Car was going to be done for July -- then they backed it up to June - then MAY... so I know that took 'em by surprise and mine (and others I'm sure) slowed a bit while that one got worked on. He has such a well oiled hot rod building machine down there... that I'm sure he's back on track. Since I'm copying Vic's dash layout -- I guess I have to keep my yap shut and not complain! LOL |
Ya know Ron --- If CHARLEY wasn't such a candy azz (he's afraid he's going to fall in love with it and have to have one built!) --- he'd go see the build and take some pics for us! Or that what's his name - traitor Mod - Dave something - who lives down there....

Looking good Grego. Have you decided on a color yet?
|
Quote:
Yes --- We picked that out at the Grand National Roadster Show --- Phil Remington's (may he RIP) '27 Track nosed car (cover of Rodders Journal - Number Fifty Seven) -- Someone I know knows the painter and secured the exact paint code. Picked the reddish leather interior on my last trip to the shop. We'll do a spray out panel just for fun - but that's the exact color combo I wanted and it just happened to be on display at the show where Roy and I both were. Sometimes ya just get lucky. Better lucky than smart!! |

Make sure he has his magic checkbook -- and gives Dave a deposit before he leaves. :D |

Oh don't I know it.... I've NEVER claimed I was smart!:D |
GW you're so gifted you trip on lucky sticks and fall in smart holes. :D
Let Roy know your thread is in jeopardy of being locked up unless fresh pics are posted soon! http://www.desmonorthwest.com/forums...es/pictime.gif |

Does that work? |
So here's a little bit of an update on the '33.....
I'll let the pictures do the talking. http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...io/file-45.jpg Okay -- maybe I'll add just a bit... Billet Specialties Valve Covers that just hide the ugly coils.... http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...io/file-47.jpg http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...io/file-46.jpg http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...io/file-48.jpg |
Greg this is going to be such a cool and bad ass car, man I just love how it looks now I can't wait to see it with paint!M!:trophy-1302: :trophy-1302: :trophy-1302:
|
Well, look at that, master cylinders on the firewall where they belong.
|
Greg thats one cool car,how do you like the valve covers?I have a set and that I am getting ready to put on.
|
Looks great with the coil cover.

ME TOO!!! But that's a few months away yet. Quote:
This build should be called -- THE KISS -- the whole friggin build is about simple - clean - simple - serviceable - drivable.... I've been the other route -- NO THANKS! LOL Quote:
I have no clue -- I've only seen them installed -- liked the looks - thought it was a simple solution to an ugly problem. DONE. Quote:
Thanks buddy! I like it too. |
Car looks great. Clean, reliable, serviceable, a few of my favorite words in the car realm. :D
|
When you take it to a guy that is the best in the business you get design layout and quality that is best in the business.
In this game You get what you pay for. Funny how it always works out that way.:G-Dub: :wow: The car looks like a gem. So pretty. It's got some traditional hod rod style mixed with some modern flair. I love the simplicity and look of that front axle. Just can't wait til you get a hood over that motor. |
She's a honey Greg, bare metal and all! Oh and don't listen to that Ford guy :twak:
|
Lookin good Greggo. Nice touch with the valve covers..
|
My only concern with the covers is coil over heating. Time will tell if it's a hot rod part. At the least, it will reduce the life of the coils. I'd carry a spare coil and plug on that first road trip. :D But hey, I tend to overthink things.
|
I like the coil cover up. Hopefully it is issue free.
So where does the accusump go? :peepwall: |
Looks great Greg.
|
Looking slick Greggo!
One question though? Being a plumber in all. I tend to look at the details. Don't you think the water and A/C lines are a tad close to the header. I'm pretty sure there aware of that. Just looking out for ya man! Mark |

I'm not sure I would have routed them that way. |
Car is looking good, can't wait to see it in paint.you should consider a pair of 67 nova taillights,:sarcasm_smiley:

The Briz was in Victoria BC for Deuce Days.... Says the roadster will be on display at Grand National Roadster Show... that it's having the hood built now and will be in body and paint first of August....
Gotta love the way these guys get on a project and see it thru to completion. Deuce Days was amazing... 986 registered cars -- cut off date was for 1951's. There were so many people in the street that you couldn't even tell there were cars parked there. I was on the lawn of The Empress (because that's where real roadsters got to park). Amazing group of people up for this show. Ed Pink... Paul Atkins... Briz... Vic Edelbrock... Sid Shavers... It was a who's who of hot rods. The show only happens once every three years. http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...io/file-49.jpg |
Wow big crowd, and the weather looks great.
|
Gotta put this one on my calender for next year, looks like a great show. Can't wait to see your car Greg, think I'll make road trip arrangements to be at the Grand National Roadster show.
|
Nice Hot rod

So THESE ARE NOT THE WHEELS that will be on the car -- these are just rollers --- but the hood and hood sides are done.... so now off to paint!
Those wheels make it look like a girlie car!! UGH!! LOL http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...io/file-51.jpg http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...io/file-52.jpg |
Yeah but it does have that old school look to it  by the way it looks so great the way it is seems a shame to cover up all the metal with paint. :poke:

Thanks Rick! Personally -- there's nothing worse than wide whites.... HAHAHAHA OMG I can't stand them! I almost didn't post up the pics because the car went from "traditional with attitude" to "traditional with absolutely nothing going for it"!! I'm still blown away by how nice the body was as shipped from the factory. My buddy Pierre was going to build one of these -- and in fact I'd called Phil at The Roadster Shop to inquire about setting the body on a chassis for him.... then he found and bought the '57 from Ironworks.... and then he saw my body as delivered and started having second thoughts! It won't take much work to get some paint on it. The hood and sides are all custom of course -- because the position of the grill is different -- it's pinched -- and sectioned. |
Greg - It's looking real good!
How's the profile of the lower frame rail? |
