Yep. Love the tubing and plumbing (to come) on this car with all the big 16AN oil lines and such.

The intake is quite a big bigger than a standard SBC but out of the SB2.2 intakes available it is the shortest one they make and not what the BIG power SB2.2 guys all use. But I liked it for its shorter height and was told it would help with more lower end power comparatively.

Thanks Rog.. we'll see. It's a goal Brett and I discussed and hope it will be a motivator to at least getting it drivable and tunable.

Competed? You clearly meant to type "spectated" and I don't need a running car to do what Weld's been doing lately.

I would however need a very nice house on wheels.

The owner could be the weak link in this project. Go buy your clapped out 77 Vette and let's find out this summer. :D

It will be interesting to see how close to the potential of this car you can realize.

I have 0 desire...The time and passion is gone.

Met up with Ron Sutton at Goodguys today and he has his new booth all going. Very impressive setup and stuff. He should be a force to be reckoned with soon I predict. Always great talking to you Ron.

I picked up these 40# Detroit Locker springs from Ron.

http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...ps34lgil2s.jpg

After learning from Ron about the various spring rates that are in the various lockers used by race teams and that they can vary anywhere from 25# to 125# depending on application, I decided to go with his recommended 40# for good measure and just get it right out of the box instead of just wondering what I got from Roush Yates. Thanks again Ron.

Good to know DG, I was out there yesterday in the pouring rain.

Outshined just came on the iTunes shuffle, which reminded me to pop in and see what's shakin' with you guys.

But sometimes when you need a reminder that there are forces bigger than us, things like that video happen... Best. Thing. Ever. Haha! And what the hell man, where were chicks like that when I was young!

Leroy --- That video is "represent'n' (as the young kids say) of two things:

This thread....

And Todd's admission that he has "0" interest in big motor'd cars - sex - booze - life - food - and hell raisin'.... Well.... Okay -- he really just said he was no longer into cars and racing --- but we'll take that as his life took a big ass splash in muddy water. LOL

Stovebolter 03-31-2014 06:57 PM

Dave, this car along with so many others....I'm not even going to attempt to name them all. Lol. Too many. I too read up on Ron's suggestion. So can I assume these springs are color coated by spring rate?

David

I miss racing my shifter way more than I miss racing the big car. The big car make all the right sounds and looked super, but noting normal people can afford does stuff right like a shifter kart does!

Dave you seemed to have invited a smart guy on the boards here. A good upgrade from that Todd guy, he's a real downer.

You shouldn't give up just because you screwed up and had things backwards the first time. Take some notes from Dave and move forward. Spend the money on the good beer instead of the fancy black paint job. Oh and buy everything, including car parts at the flea market.

I do not know. You'll have to ask Ron on that to be sure. I do believe he is only selling them in 40# if I recall.

Well, it's time to share with my automotive family that my wife is 3 months preggers. :woot:

Pretty stoked. 2014 should be the year I get to drive my vision of a stupid pro-nothing/race-touring car and then be a father. Not a bad year if it all pans out.

Oh, and before anyone says the car better get done ASAP before my clock runs out (maybe partially true) the project will not be hurried and will not be compromised on what we (Brett & I) want.

It's done :whenitsdone: :D
