I'm looking at Eastwood High temp 2K ceramic clear coating. I painted an iron engine with the 2K Chevy orange and it looks great so I'll give the clear a shot. The LS engine is so rough I'm hoping the clear will help keep it easier to clean.

Yeah, i have had good results with rattle cans on iron too. Don't know if clear or color on alum would work the same.

Thanks for the link to the Joe Cocker song, Wayne. I just got back to checking out your thread and after watching the video, I think I'm going to need a cold shower before continuing to read the next 4 pages, and at my age, I don't know it it's from the video or the pile of parts surrounding that engine, LOL.

I always gave kudos to the builders of these amazing cars we see on here and after this week it got re enforced while trying to mount my hood latch with the Heat exchanger and A/C condenser.
I started fitting up my Heat Exchanger and condenser this week. I'm leaning mine back behind the latch mount on the radiator support by spacing the top bracket rearward to give a little extra room for the latch. I may need to make a taller aluminum bracket for the top of the HX. The top of the condenser has been notched already and the hood latch is being trimmed. I made a cardboard template of the bracket that mounts to the Rad support, hood latch, upper and lower valances to see how much I need to trim the bracket, and trimmed it to fit.

So after many curse words and dinged up finger I have to say, This is kicking my butt, I say uncle! I'm going to put a cable operated hood latch and be done with it.
I'm using a thread posted by 1967ls2 located here. http://www.pro-touring.com/threads/1...cable+operated one good thing, this forced me to finish my compressor hook up. Nothing fancy just a filter and regulator but now its usable. More to follow!
