thievesthey need to die

Thieves should all be hung by there balls and betten to death with what they stole. How do you go about recovering from theft. My shop was broken into last night, me and three of my co workers tool boxes were destroyed and cleaned out. I hate when i car is stolen, but that has ins and can be replaced. My tools can too, but its my lively hood. I need them to make a living. Wtf is with people. How do you track down tools?

Unfortunately you can't unless there is some distinct marking, ID, engraving, etc that you put on them. At least for manual/hand tools anyway. Now, electric, pnuematic, hydraulic, etc may have serial numbers for ID purposes. That's the difference between cars and tools...cars have vin #'s, tools do not. It is almost impossible to track down and ID a wrench, hammer, socket, etc. Unless they took the whole tool box with the tools in it (which they didn't) that was probably the best way to ID your stuff. A buddy of mine isn't a mechanic, but has a buttload of tools. He engraves every single wrench, socket, drill, etc that he has. Sorry to hear of this and I agree with you...thieves should be bludgened to death. There is a place for a many of bad things in this world, but a thief isn't one of them in my opinion.

Put a few more tools on your list....a 12 gauge, .45 caliber hand gun, and a shovel.

Im thinking of electrifing my tool box for the next go around. Be in for a good surprise when u touch my box

Diligence and a $10 engraver to put your drivers license number on the tools or at least your initials. Then video or still photo inventory every drawer in your box at least once a year for insurance purposes.

Sorry, I understand exactly how you feel, been there.

Sorry to hear that this happenned to you. I've been in your shoes. Got alarm system installed with monitoring service and every piece of my Snap-on tool is engraved with my full name. Every air and electric tool has my full name and a phone number. $30 a month is well worth the piece of mind. I learned that two guard dogs still can't call you in the middle of the night if some lowlife douche is trying to break in.

keep track of Craigslist or your local paper....you can buy it all back with lead or local brass your choice. Its the sign of the times.

Sorry to hear this. Hope they catch the low lifes and string them up by their b*lls

Not to add fuel to the Fire, but I agree about Thieves..They need to be taught a lesson that the Jails don't teach...

I want their hair to stand up on the back of their necks when they think of stealing again.. Have them look at a thumbless hand..

I do not want to hear from them that they have no money, and the economy is bad, blah, blah, blah...

Stealing another man's good's is just stepping over the line...I have never, and will never take another man's goods..

Try not to let it eat your insides, and time for an Alarm..My company i used to work for is finally getting an Alarm after 25 years of business...Too much inventory that they don't want to lose..
