What is Pro Touring?

When you see sales ads for cars that claim to be Pro touring, I wonder why they think their car is a true pro touring car. but then I ask myself. What exactly makes a Pro Touring car? suspension, Wheels and tires, what?? Asking you experts.:G-Dub:

Good point... I should go look through his build book to see if there is a good definition in there.

Pro touring is having a vintage car which could be driven in relatively modern comfort around town and across state lines to a racetrack and back home. "Could" being the operative word since they are generally in various states of disrepair and often being "upgraded." Frequently these cars are accompanied by another similarly vintage automobile in a more advanced state of disrepair.

I think Potter Stewart said it best. "I know it when I see it." ;)
