Yesterday's recycling mission
A friend with a machine shop made me an offer I couldn't refuse. After a little last minute scrambling to secure a friends trailer I picked this up and brought it home and pressure washed the table and trailer. That trailer is for sale if by chance anyone's interested. 6K axles with brakes, Michelin tires.
What's that old saying.......one man's junk is another's treasure. At $250 I couldn't resist. Surface is 34" x 114" x 3/8" http://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-J...J46hDGf-XL.jpg http://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-4...4qFMKBN-XL.jpg http://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-T...TxrpkFJ-XL.jpg http://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-V...V3PDdhs-XL.jpg http://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-c...cctWHxt-XL.jpg http://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-M...MgDB5QB-XL.jpg For some reason the wife isn't as excited as I am. :sieg: |
Nice score!
My wife never gets very excited about the junk I drag home either. I picked up this old Trinco Blast cabinet a few weeks ago. She was less than pleased... ;) https://scontent-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hpho...20637107_n.jpg I'm almost done with a quick refurb on it. I don't plan to open up the ClamShell so I mounted the dust collector to the top of it. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-9...h905-no/14+-+1 |
 Nice score!

Sweet bench!! I would have been all over that as well...
I was at a distributor's place a month or so ago and the lab manager grabbed me and asked me if I wanted this... https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-B...140419_103.jpg https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-D...140407_975.jpg https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-F...140954_654.jpg It took me about 5 seconds to say "hell yes"... I still haven't decided what I'm going to do with it, worst case is I have one heckuva work table, best case is I can sell it and create some car parts funds... |
I like that trailer! Wish I was local. Whats the Price?

Trailer.
Wow, that's pretty well how I got my trailer. An older lady that moved next door about 4 years ago from a farm her and her husband had, had a 16 foot trailer. You could tell it was rough and it sat in her back yard since the day she moved in. I watched her mow around it every week. Finally I asked her if she wanted to sell it. We settled on $325. New lights, a $70 sandblast job, a paint job and two discounted fenders from a farm supply store and for a total investment of $625. I'm good to go. Her husband used to hall 8N Ford tractors on it, so no problem on the weights. Good catch!!!

Well the deal on the table was sweetened yesterday, my buddy asked if I'd be willing to do some family photography work as a straight trade.........why certainly! Win-Win!
Spent most of the day working on the old slab cutting the legs down and installing the casters. Best part.......it's level! Finished height ended up at 24-7/8". Glad I used those oversized casters as I love the retro look and it rolls very easy easy considering the weight and dirty bearings and bushings in the casters. When I have more time I'll tear them apart and clean and paint them International Tractor red. http://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-7...7HSXB6B-XL.jpg http://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-f...fLL3xTP-XL.jpg |
