bigger tire on 2nd gen
I have a 2nd gen camaro with 18x10 5.5 bs and 285-35-18 tire. I would like to put on 305-35-18 tire to get that fat look. Is there a spring relocation and shock kit that I can find out there? I dont mind if I have to roll the fender lip or do some massaging to the inner fender.

I agree with you. The tire is only 1 full inch wider. I am not interested in spending 1500 to 2 grand just to fit about an inch. I was wondering if rolling the lip will help at all. |
Really, since a 315/35-17 will fit in the stock well, a 305 should fit. Rolling the fender lip and beating the seat belt hump is the main interference. The other thing to look out for is ride height. Lowering the car begins to limit the range of motion on the wheel with that size tire.

To the best of my memory Hotchkis installed 315/35/18 on the F-71 Camaro project. I due believe that you will have to roll the lip some what but I think most of the issue is making sure you have the proper offset on the wheel. It is a tight fit but it should work with minimal modifications.

If you want to put really big and wide rims and tires on a Camaro is to either mini-tub or flair the fenders. Take a look at 1970-81 IMSA /SCCA road race cars. They went to the extreme to fit the biggest and widest Wheel /tire combos. Next to drag racers.Have fun.
