Something a little different
 
Hello everyone! I've been visiting here for quite some time and have always enjoyed the wealth of knowledge available on the forums. I recently read a post where a senior member mentioned that [unlike some other boards, all projects are welcome and well received here] so I thought I introduce myself and my car as well as provide a bit of a brief history. Sorry for the long 1st post.
1986 Monte Carlo SS;
I bought this car new in 1986 and it was my DD for the next 10 years. I bought another project in 95 and put the Monte on the back burner until I moved back to NY from CA in 98. When i got back to NY I decided to start working on reversing the aging of the car. Since it has always run good and was in excellent mechanical condition I started with the interior and exterior. A new custom interior was done while going over the rust free body and laying down Corvette bright white Chroma One two stage paint. Instead of decals i opted to have emblems and letters pinstriped and then the car was clear coated. The car was completed and reassembled in '04'
In '05' mechanical upgrades were planned to enhance the performance of the car for a Pro-touring theme and I started with the addition of an SC&C G5 front brake conversion, Pole Position adjustable upper A arms and Spohn tubular A Arms. Baer disc brakes in the rear and QA1 adjustable shocks at all four corners and a Hydroboost for the brakes. I finished off with the addition of of C6 replica Rims wrapped in 245/45-17 Pirelli Pzero tires in the front and Pirelli 275/40-17 Pzero tires in the rear.
I am currently finishing up on the lates upgrades which are theinstallation of a 427 ci SBC followed by a T56 tranny. The engine is topped by a Cutom Stealth Ram and controlled by a F.A.S.T XFI controller. Fuel supply is from an Aeromotive A1000 and sumped tank. The interior was further done with a compliment of Auto Meter Phantom II guages, a center console from a 97 Z28 and Procar Rally elite seats. Sorry, i forgot to mention the coil overs. I replaced the QA1 shocks with Coil overs from Alston chassis works. I liked the fact that the Alston units retained the springs on the shock housing instead of just supporting it from the lower adjusting nut.

I made that myself, i wanted something a little different and I thought CF would be the way to go. I'm glad you like it.

Thanks Frank, the engine is all buttoned up, the oil system primed and the distributor is set. The injection should be ready as well.

How are your connections at F.A.S.T? I've got a few ideas for them to make their system a little more user friendly for installs (must be the Engineer in me).

Thats what i thought. Did you have any issue with the stealth ram ports covering the intake ports on the heads? The intake ports are smaller then the cylinder head ports, I just wanted to be sure they covered OK?

right now I still have the original 7.5 rear with a power trax in it. I want to run the car with the 3:73 gears before I decide what final ratio to go with. the numbers say the 3:73 should be fine but I still think that with the T56 I may go up to 3:90-4:10. Once i decide on the gear ratio I'll have a 12 bolt built with lengthened tubes to make up for the backspacing. right now I have 2.5" adapters mounted.

I had no issues with assembling the intake. Everything lined up and fit fine.
