just awesome. I thought I remember a post with you saying you had your mufflers on, right? That doesn't sound like mufflers to me. If they are, what kind? :woot:

A hotrod neighborhood would be cool!

Everytime I start my car my neighbor's kid craps his pants. He thinks it's thunder!

Mean 69 07-16-2007 01:19 PM

Great job, it's so cool to hear them run for the first few times.

Scott, which cam did you go with? I know Katech has several grinds, curious to hear which one you went with. Same as Stielow's car? If so, what are your driving impressions, etc?

Getting closer!
Mark

HOLY CRAP Scott that things sounds wicked. So when does it get torn apart again for paint?

rwhite692 07-16-2007 05:31 PM

A good day indeed!

57hemicuda 07-16-2007 05:43 PM

That thing sounds great,I don't know how you kept from flogging the crap out of the thing, making some new friends in the neighborhood.LOL. Ron

olds87 07-16-2007 05:50 PM

Nice. I hope your neighbors was cool about it.

XcYZ 07-16-2007 06:01 PM

It has exhaust, a set of Spintech mufflers, and as Jake noted, there's no tailpipes. Other than no glass or front clip, it was no big deal driving it a couple hundred feet around the corner - nothing that would make any of the neighbors mad.

Stuart Adams 07-16-2007 06:50 PM

Sounds perfect. Congrats

caper150 07-16-2007 09:27 PM

Man that thing sounds AWESOME, I hope to see it around someday soon.

silver63c10 07-16-2007 11:05 PM

Dear lord that thing sounds sweet..I was waiting for just one little romp but I didn't get it :( Beautiful car even with the front end off!

Are you running an x-pipe or anything on it? My plan is oval tubing and SpinTechs, dumping into a wide slash cut in front of the rear tires. I'm kinda thinking (hoping) an x-pipe will help dull the roar a little bit

awr68 07-16-2007 11:34 PM

Congrats!! Atleast you got to drive yours before paint!

Rybar 07-17-2007 01:10 AM

Holy F**ken crap that things sounds insane for having mufflers on it. :hail: Sounds more like open headers

Love it Scott your car is amazing, and it's going to be one of the nicest 69's built in my eyes!

I think we need to meet up with you for a

Rick Dorion 07-17-2007 06:38 AM

Sweet :)

Started my day off fine!

tndude 07-17-2007 07:30 AM

Whoa...very nice Scott.

Sales@Dutchboys 07-17-2007 07:33 AM

Awsome Scott!

Not much longer and you'll be tearing up the track!

Paul

jannes_z-28 07-17-2007 08:54 AM

Great Scott!!

That is always a great moment in a project. And as many have said before me, it really sounds brute. Must be awesome when you can drive it for real.

Jan

V8TV 07-17-2007 09:41 AM

Wow, that's killer! So much for you sneaking out at night!

XcYZ 07-17-2007 10:10 AM

It's not that loud, I think the mic on the MiniDV just did a good job picking up the sound. In the 2nd part of the video, you can hear the road noise (tires and gravel) as I start to roll. Darrell (Bouncer) and I could have a normal conversation in the garage while the car was idling.

But, with that said, I'm not putting tailpipes on the car until the car is basically finished I'm totally satisfied with how it sounds not only at idle, but also at WOT. I could always end up changing mufflers. :)

markss28 07-17-2007 11:04 AM

I think every one should get out their cameras and tape the best burnout/ or donut they can do just for giggles and the wow factor.

postino 07-17-2007 01:42 PM

Hey Scott, which Spintechs are you running?

XcYZ 07-17-2007 02:14 PM

They are Spintech sportsman street mufflers.
