Dead Cat is alive!
Well I have been working my but off at my job and trying to get my car together. Last night was a huge mile stone. With a group of 20 friends sitting in lawn chairs drinking beer, I fired my car up for the first time in 6 years. Technology is such a great thing. This is my first LS motor and Nick Williams (of Nick Williams throttle bodies fame) flashed the compute based on what was done to the motor. The tune he loaded in is right on the money. I turned the ignition one click and got the fuel pump to come on, set the fuel pressure and then checked for leaks. I went to bump the motor to make sure I had enough battery to turn the car over and it started before the car made 1 full revolution.
Starting a car with open headers is such a rush and to have non-car people not use to that sort of thing...you should have seen their faces. I was going to get video but the light was too poor last night. I am going to get it on the ground and try to get some film this week. For all of you using an AAW highway 22 kit, it is fantastic. Wiring you car with a fuse box, picture schematic and a bunch of loose wire takes a long time. |

I know you worked your ass off to get where you're at.
Congratulations, Rich |
Thanks
and yes I have. Way more time than the last time I built a car and had no kids.
Yep, Nick is up in Mooresville, NC. About 200 yards from the Mooresville dragway. He is still producing the TB's but has a shop doing work on cars as well. I will be putting my car on his rear wheel dyno. |
Payton
Awesome dude!! Get some video asap. Coming thru town anytime soon? Jim |
Won;t be down that way for a bit
I have friends coming in for the Charlotte auto fair in Sept. I plan on seeing you at SEMA.

 Congrats Payton, you just may beat me to the street yet! |
Oh Steve
You won that contest. Yours has been running, shot for a cover, driven and now going through additional upgrades. I do plan on taking a victory lap this weekend.
I will be getting video at that time and see what I can do about some photos. 70gotboost- I have been meaning to look you up. We keep our boat at Lake Norman Marina, probably not 5 minutes from you. We are up their at least 1 day a week. We need to get together. Thanks for all the good responses. I know it is kind of lame to say I started the car with no video or photos. I was just too excited to keep it to myself. |
