I'll post some more details when I have some time as well right now I have to go fly to some place Harrisburg to get Chambersburg, must be home of the burgs. I actually had to do a search for where and what State PA was. (Canadian)

I have lurked here for a while and spent more time at Pro-Touring.com researching and planning a build, then I saw Fuel. Details to follow.

Vegas69 09-08-2007 03:59 PM

Great choice. If I had it to do over again I would have probably just bought one finished as well. Alot less headaches!

No I did not , in fact another board member was going to buy them this week . It turned out that Dave came through on purchasing the car .

If fact I am at the shop now and Dave is scheduled to land 45 min north of me in a few minutes.
I will fill you all in as soon as he arrives .

That is right Steve , Dave just left here to go get some sleep and meet me in the morning here and go to the bank to do the transaction.

He has a copilot with him also , It should be fun . I hope Aeromotie got that fuel pump right this time !

I will post up a route that he is taking later today . If there is anyone out there on the board that will be in the area of his route , that would be willing to help if he had road trouble. It would be nice if I could get some phone numbers to anyone willing to lend a hand.

Talk to you guys later

J2SpeedandCustom 09-09-2007 11:24 AM

If he is rolling through Iowa-Neb. on I-80 we will be around if he needs us!

Beegs 09-09-2007 11:35 AM

FUEL= one of my g-machine favs!

dropit69 09-09-2007 12:27 PM

where is he from?

PASD U 09-09-2007 01:41 PM

Should've had an entire camera crew and chase vehicle to document that. Hell, TLC or SPEED should've done a segment on it. That car is without a doubt going to get some great attention going down the road. At minimun I'd like to see some videos on YouTube.

J2SpeedandCustom 09-09-2007 01:49 PM

If he runs through Omaha, NE we can get Fuel and Blackeye Bob in some interstate video, that might be cool!

Datsbad 09-09-2007 02:13 PM

I am told that Steve Rupp is going to have him documnet is drive home and have something about the ride home in PHR, not sure?

Anyway , here is Daves route home. http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Ch...=UTF8&om=1&z=5

I would personally never do this without a back up plan .
We did the powertour the 1st year and had no problems, Powertour the second year and the fuel pump went out.

There are just to many things that could go wrong to be left along the road.
This is a very well driving and running car but we are at the mercy of what I like to call "OPP" other peoples parts !

At any rate I have been up the past 2 nights going over the car and double checking everything , I had to finish up somethings I never did and it was a joy to feel cold ac blowing in the car .

Anyone that thinks they could lend a hand through the trip above please PM me some numbers and contacts. I will then print them off and give the list to Dave tomorrow morning.

TonyG 09-09-2007 02:59 PM

Wow.. That is going to be one hell of a road trip. Good luck guys! I wish I was on the route somewhere just to try and get a up close glimpse of this masterpiece.

Bill Howell 09-09-2007 03:08 PM

Congratulations to the both of you.
I can say I have followed that car for many miles, on two different Power Tours now (though I can not tell at what speed sometimes...hehe) and I know first hand the attention it commands on the road. Such a nice car, and since I too DRIVE my junk, I am glad it is going to a new home where it will be driven, not sit in hiding all the time. I would be glad to help if you come through Tennessee, but if you get here. you are heading the WRONG way.......hehe

Rybar 09-09-2007 03:19 PM

Sweet, Dave is in Calgary, AB, Canada!! Maybe I will have a chance to see FUEL in person sometime.

Dave, if you ever come to Vancouver, give me a shout.

romar 02 ss 09-09-2007 06:46 PM

It should be a fun trip home, long, but fun.As we say about our Jeep trips "you always talk about the time something broke and rarely about the clean drive through".But we aren't going quite as fast as they will be. Good Luck

Rick D 09-09-2007 07:40 PM

Congrats on the purchase. Cool car. That is quite a trip planned. Living in AZ. I wouldn't be much help, but be safe and enjoy the journey.
