The Vette is finally home!!!
4 Attachment(s)
I never thought this day would actually come but it has. I finally have my Vette at home. It sure is nice to go out to the garages and open the door to find my car there. I have only gotten to wipe it down and take a short spin around the block so far. I am sure that as I put a few miles on it it may have a few bugs to work out but this is close to a finished project now. I will update this post with my driving impressions and I will be taking a lot more photos which I will forward to Scott so he can post them. Thanks for letting me post and show my car on your board.

Congrats!! That is one super ride you have there!! I hope you enjoy the heck out of it soon!!

Very nice

Beautiful!! More pix please. Is that hood scoop larger than stock?

Thanks. Yes the hood is different then stock. It is hand made from aluminum to somewhat ressemble a 67 big block hood. The stinger is slightly wider and higher then a stock one would have been Also we included the functional vents with hand built billet accents in the front edge which help exit air that comes from the grill through the intercoolers.

A great day indeed!...Congrats, Looks fantastic.... :hail:

Awesome car man, I bet it is alot of fun to drive. The interior is :hail:

Next to the Junk Yard Dog that car had to be the most visible car in Boyd's garage all season long. Even when they were doing other projects your car could always be found in the background, just sitting there patiently for someone to work on her. What a long, arduous journey this has been for you. Congrats on finally getting her home and please, if you decide to stretch her legs a bit, make sure someone is present with a camcorder so we can hear that beautiful engine make some noise.

I thought that Vette was from American Hot Rod. Anyways Nice Vette!! Looks killer!
Have you put your foot into it yet? Wasn't it something over 1000hp??? |
Looks awesome Shaun. Looking forward to meeting you at SEMA. My Camaro is supposed to be there also in the Marquez Design booth.
Thanks again for the paint code, you made my buddy very happy! Loves the color of your car. Jody |
Man. I am constantly amazed at how awesome that car looks.
Oh and: We want more pictures! We want more pictures! We want more pictures! We want more pictures! We want more pictures! |
That is an amazing car. Absolutely incredible. I can't wait for the CD to arrive so I can start putting some webpages together to feature it.

Thanks for all the compliments. I am very happy with the way the car came out. I will be getting more pics and technical info to Scott right away so you all can see more.
For those who dont know about the car here is a quick description. The car was built by Boyd Coddington over the course of 2 years and about 5 months of which part was shown on American Hot Rod. Most of that stuff on the show is created drama and it was not even complete when they showed it claiming to be done. Back to the car. The car has a complete custom chassis, Winters quickchange independent rear, one-off custom cnc front control arms, Wilwood 6 piston front and 4 piston rear brakes, Nelson Racing Engines 434 ALL Aluminum SBC with Twin Turbos making 1500+ hp and 1300+ ft/lbs torque, G-Force 5 speed trans, interior by Gabe Lopez and many other unique pieces. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Thanks again for the compliments. I appreciate them. |
Awsome car...........another one I that I look forward to seening at SEMA.

Very, very nice.
|
Too bad you can't make it to Pleasanton this weekend. It'd definitely be a hit at that show.
|
Shaun,
Do you happen to know who built the chassis for your vette? |
Dave- The rails were bent by Morrison and the rest of the chassis was done by Scott, Al and the guys at Boyds shop.
|
Killer car :hail:
Hats off to boyd and his guys...everyone of his cars is a peice of art! What shows are you planning on hitting with the car...anything in the midwest or maybe indy in 2weeks :) ! |
Travis- I am thinking about Des Moines and then Columbus for the Goodguys shows. Not sure yet but really considering it.
|
cool ,
I noticed in the pics you have some more cars and a dragster. How about more pics? What car is in the bubble? |
Friend of mine was just visiting Boyd and Jo, your car was there getting the final buffing. Sure sounded great on the few video clips I've heard and looks good in the pictures. Hope to see that car in person one day. Keep us posted!

 I took it out for a short little spin this afternoon. What a beautiful sound that comes from those pipes. It gets a little noisy but I am glad that I skipped on putting any mufflers on it. Motor idles at about 850 with a nice little lope in it. I LOVE IT!! Haven't gotten into the throttle yet. Just trying to make sure all is working well before I unleash it. I will keep you updated and try to get some video of it running.

Simply put........BAD ASS NICE RIDE!!!!.......I love the color, the billet, the chrome, the twin turbos, the interior.......VERY VERY NICE! :hail: :hail: :hail:  :D

If you end up doing the columbus show keep us posted as i wouldn't mind seeing it in person. BTW - it has to be my favorite vette ever |
It sure turned out nice

I will keep you posted about Columbus Goodguys. Still have not decided but I am seriously considering it.

Hot Rod Interiors,
The reason you see my car still in the backgrounds is that it is still not finished. The car was not even functional when they claimed it was done for the taping of the show. Many of the cars still need things hooked up like gauges and etc. plus need bugs worked out after taping for the show. My car was even worse as it required so much fab work. My car is still currently at Boyds being finished!! I am now over 3 1/2 years of being worked on at Boyds!! I have had it for one week to take to Hot August Nights but it was still not done. The recent cars on the show have not had a lot of fabrication to enable them to finish the cars in the time supplied. The deadlines are only for TV. Hope that answers your questions. |

are you happy with boyd ? and what is your take on dewayne , i have heard he is a real good guy to deal with . |
Sounds like you are a little upset they are taking so long. How long does it take to work out bugs?
Mike |
Boyd and I have been friends for many years so I have no problem with him. TV makes him look like an idiot and Dwayne also but in the real world they are both nice people. As far as the time I expected it to take a few years to build so I am not to bothered by it. Actually what bothers me is the people who think it only takes a few months and that they think that the TV show is real and 100% true.
|
Twin, as someone who has known Boyd for many years, do you think he realizes how bad the show makes him (and the whole operation) look sometimes?
|

i have always been pro-boyd , he still has style . the only car he has done that looked like sh#t was the rat rod (and maybe the yellow and blue combo ) other than those he has always built very nice cars ! |
A truely beautiful Corvette. It has been one of the nicest cars to come out of boyds shop since "that show" started.
|
RWHITE692,
I think he relizes it and I know he has been told by many many people that the show makes them look bad but I think that other things and benefits push him to over look it and continue on. Thanks to everyone else for the compliments on my car. |
A little off topic, but I really liked Roy. He will be missed.
