Lincoln V12 or cadillac V16 - where to find ?
Hello! Friend of mine is looking for a project engine for hes 30s hot rod. Hes intrested of lincoln V12 or cadillac V16 ,yes wierd engine and i am sure not in our intrest. But if somebody has ideas where to ask.

GM only had 3 of the V16's made. One was a dyno Mule, one in the concept Cadillac, and the other was put in a Chevy Tahoe of all things. The Tahoe is UGLY. It has a nasty looking lengthened front end. lol

Try posting at the Hokey Ass Message Board (HAMB) on the Jalopy Journal site (www.jalopyjournal.com).
Make sure you do an intro first after you register. Then, ask away. There's more vintage engine knowledge and connections on that board than anywhere else I've seen. PS- Did you know there were aftermarket aluminum heads made for the V-12 Lincoln way back in the day? It's true...I recently saw a pair at the Carlisle Swaps. Wild stuff... ~SP~ |

Saw that at the Detroit Autorama a few years back, awesome engine! The V-12's are getting a bit more popular with the traditional rod crowd, cool engines, and something different from the normal V8 flatties. The V16 would be cool, but I think the length would be an issue, and cost would be another one. V16 Caddy stuff is big $$$$! What about a V8 flat head with Ardun heads? The OHV conversion makes that little engine look pretty cool. Definitely check out the H.A.M.B. killer site and a wealth of knowlede on traditional hot rods and their parts. Just do an intro first! |

Yes we should have the caddy V16 as an crate engine for camaros :woot: But the actual need for the nostalgia engine is old wooden boat. Not a chris craft runaboat but similar style boat from 40s. I am working with the hamb site and let you guys know is something comes up! |

Boat? :hail:  AWESOME!!! Go for the V16 then! FYI- My great-grandfather was a boat builder and we have a 1955 Morrison in our garage. Not like the classic chris crafts, but who cares, my great grandpa built it 52 years ago. Definitely keep us posted with pics!!!!!:unibrow: |

If you don't have an engine builder, and you do have unlimited funds, you might want to check here: http://uncommonengineering.com/
