Thank you State Farm!
First of all for fixing Penny. We're in the last week of repairs and I should have her back this weekend. Then she goes to get some interior work. Total bill for the repairs is over $34,000.. yikes!
I wonder if the guy's companie's premium went up? Oh, and thanks to State Farm for buying me a set of new seats.. this is where I spent my "settlement" money. http://picsorban.com/upload/recaro.jpg best seats out there and I've ran them in this fabric on my last two cars, might as well continue the tradition. I would also like to say that State Farm was EXCELLENT to deal with. Once they understood the car they took care of me and "did the right thing". They never tried to screw me and the adjuster I talked with was always pleasent and very nice (ie, empathetic). They get a big gold star on this one! |
I LOVE those seats! Mark has them in Camaro X and I was surprised how comfortable the were.
Good to hear that State Farm was good to you. Nothing worse than an insurance nightmare. |
I'd love to have State Farm in MA or any of the others that are advertised here that we can't have because they're over-regulated to the point where they can't do business here. Mine fights me on everything, including replacement windshields from stone chips.
I've yet to hear one negative comment about State Farm, that's awesome Steve! I'm glad everything worked out. |
34K I'd loved to see that estimate. You did great Steve. I deal with every insurance company out there and they are always cutting the repairs.
|
Good to hear Steve!! I've had SF my whole driving life (20 yrs.) and they have always been great. They were also the best priced for my street bikes. It wasn't untill the camaro came along that I had to go to Grundy,,,but the DD's and home are still with SF!!
Love the seats and can't wait to see her at the show!! |
you lucky guy you.
|
good to hear that they took care of you. The one accident I was in that involved insurance was a night mare. spent 2 weeks fighting over who's fault it was. I mean, an 85 year old woman passed out and crossed the stripe. pretty cut and dry. In the end they footed the bill for the rental and my truck..
On a side note, Steve, Is there any way I could get you to measure those seats for me? I'm trying to make some 1/12th scale replica's of some similar seats. |

But I guess it worked out as good as it could have. :) |

What recaros are those? What tracks did you used with em ? And one question from totally outerspace- there was 3 point seat belt tech story few issues ago in PHR . What was the "billet" the steering wheel in that car (fairlaine?) ? |
Quote:
The seat belt story was on the Chevelle, not the Fairlane. I don't recall the steering wheel but I think it was either a Budnik wheel or it could be the new "retro" looking GRANT wheel. The Fairlane has a wood rimmed Grant wheel but it's more modern looking and I haven't done a seatbelt story on this car, yet. The Recaros are the "speed" model with the Artista centers. Sliders are Recaros and the brackets are by Wedge Engineering in Long Beach, CA. |
Hey Steve are you using State Farm on Penny? When I spoke to my agent she tells me that she cannot do a agreed value on my car even with an apprisal. Now im looking at classic insurance.

Farmers told me they now do Agreed Value but I want to see it in writing first. I hear State Farm was going to it, just a rumor. |
Steve penny is turning out better than before
the recaros are classy  The paint work is super from those pics youve showed us I imagine how nice it is in real time viewing |

I hope you dont mind me following your good steps:hail: |
steve, what company is penny insured through?
|
Us adjusters are not to bad to deal with sometimes. LOL.
I work for nationwide we offer an agreed value policy. We also offer an OEM endorsement (you have a wreck you get brand new parts, no used, no a/m, no recon) adds 6% to premium. Did you get any diminshed value out of them? Since the car doesnt have all of its OE panels ad was involved in an accident? Its not that big of deal its not like anyone could car fax it..ha ha |
Seats look good!
Steve, I dropped off the gauge panels for Scott's party at your office today. You were not around so I left them with the girl up front. |
I'm glad it all worked out for you Steve and Penny is alive and well once again. Look forward to seeing it @ SEMA. Love the seats also. I'm thinking about running those in the 55...That is if I ever get it done!

Thanks, I will bring them to the lat-g SEMA party! |

Can someone tell me why I shouldn't drive the damn thing to SEMA? Seriously, I hate f'ing trailers... it's only 250 miles.. through nothing.. that's hardly a half tank of gas. lol |
Quote:
500 miles to a tank... wtf? drive it...... if its got bugs splattered all over it, i will buy you a lap dance. |
Can't wait to see it...Drive it

State Farm is a good company
ranked #1 in claims paying last year by JD Powers. How do I know...I am a State Farm agent.
How dirty can a car get drving 250 miles with no rain? Tape up the front and lower fenders and do a mini Cannonball run. What is the record? Would make a cool story as well. |

I forgot that I didn't go with the 22 gallon tank.. my bad ;) Lap dance? hmmm.... |

Conundrum ???
The car guy in me says: drive the hell outta it back and forth...
But, the responsible business guy in me says: do what you need to do to ensure you meet your sponsors obligations and don't leave them hanging if you aren't positive you'll get it there as promised. AND THEN - drive the hell outta it on the way home... Responsibility - what a drag. You'll do the right thing. Best o Luck and enjoy the show !! |
Good point
How about ship it one way and drive it home...you are definitely entittled to some seat time.
I forgot you have those really sticky R888 on there. Trailer it both ways. |

If I leave EARLY Sunday there will be no traffic.. go to ATS and clean up the car then shoot to the convention center.. hmmm... |

Drive it...(defensively) |

As in Steve's case, the driver at fault had State Farm. I'm sure Steve doesn't have State Farm on Penny:yes: State Farm doesn't offer Agreed Value, only Stated Value. AND, there is a difference.
