atomic camaro
Started install the highway 22 wiring kit last weekend. It was fairly easy to understand. I tried to hide all the wiring like fans, dse headlight motors. I think I might tuck spark plug wires under headers next. All the wiring is in on front except wiper motor and thermastat. My son told me we need to put the belt on now LOL since he has helped me so much we did it. He is 11years old. What do you guys think should the wires be under the headers? We did have to modify radiator a little to fit and drill in some spots was really tight areas to drill. Anyways just showing a little progress on it. There a lot more to go but the time with me son is priceless it gets him off the playstation for a while.

Coolest part of this build is that your 11 year old son is building it with you.

Well I have most of the wiring done expect sensors for the gauges and it all works. I ended up using three bulk packs and one 20 sq pack of the Dynamat but still a little short. It looks like a quick thing to do but it takes a while. It’s going to be about four more weeks for the intake but nelson racing sent me some pictures below of how its going. I checked out the audio and might go with Boston acoustics spz for the front, jl w8-7 for the rear, and two jl amps and stick with a basic radio to many buttons drive me nuts. After looking at the lower body rs molding on I took it off it just looks out of place so I have the filled when it redone. I can not decide where to use the original console or not. Vintage air will be a last thing to do and I’m not to familiar with it. Now for the fun part interior and headliner!
It’s going slow but get there soon. http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/9...amat010hk0.jpg http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/5...amat009xp2.jpg http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/8...amat008tp8.jpg http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/9...amat007rb9.jpg http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/6...amat003xu0.jpg |

Turned out real nice man....no re paint I take it? That stereo is insane. I can only imagine how much money you have in that!
|
That is looking sharp!
Very nice car. |
Jake's rod shop is going to do the repaint and they did twist machines work in the past and it looks great. It took me a while to save the money for it. I'm going to finish it first then remove what is needed for paint. The bottom and engine bay will not be redone.

I got some new parts this week from spaghetti engineering. I had a problem with the Marquez tail lights and spaghetti engineering took care of it super fast. Spaghetti’s customer service is top notch!! The digi-tail lights and the front LEDs where easy to install and did not affect the rs headlight doors. I also got the rear window molding unfortunately the body work done on the upper left corner radius in completely different from the right so it left a ¼” gap. The vintage air was an easy install. I’m just waiting for the engine to get back from tom nelson then drive shaft and exhaust to be complete.

great work, it will pay off in the end after repaint.
that window trim problem is typical when replacing roof, quarters etc, it is always better to fit moldings before paint. way easier to fix then. jake |

Wow Awesome build . You have a beautiful car . That color looks sweet and the interior is too.
|
Very cool.
Car looks great. Did you get a chance to drive it yet? Just wondered how it handled? Looks like it's a corner carver!  |
I have not drove it yet. It's 11pm and just finished the fuel line. I'm going to start it for the first time tommorrow. Hopefully everything goes well.

A video would be nice for us not so far along on our projects. Plus I'd love to hear it run .
|
I was thinking same thing. I"m a little stuck on my thermostat housing so it might be a couple of days. I need to have it modified or a custom one made 1 1/8 height and angled to the drivers side. What part of ma. are you from wayne ?
|
I'm in the south east part of Ma. about 17 miles SE from Providence RI.

It took almost five year but I drove it last week not far but enough to make me happy. The video clip is a guy who had done some work on it. He thought it was a automatic and had it in overdrive. Its a lot quicker when you use the other three gears LOL. I made a temporary cold air intake for now. The intake is coming off this week to go back to nelson for some work and it should be back in about four weeks. I will take it for a real cruise then. The tec gt was one of the hardest parts since one small ground strap was stopping the crank trigger signal and making it intermediate. For five years it was just a project not a car but now after it drove down the street its actually a car I was so excited. It still does not seam real. Thanks for all the help along the way with out lateral it would have taken a couple more years.
