C6-66 Z06 Nova build book.... kind of
Well John has been asked by enough people on Steves site to thin down his huge post about his C6 nova Project, so I thought I might give you guys a heads up on the pics. It is kinda cool, It just needs some background music to go along with it. We will be updating with some really recent pics here shortly. It is coming along nicely. Very Nicely.

John for paying the bills Rodger (and crew)for building this thing Seriously - this car is and has been one of my favorite builds to watch. I can't wait to see it finished. What a shame to cover up some of the fab work in this thing! Later, Brandon |

John that Nova is over the top :wow:

no wonder all the posts on Johns car are 10 miles long, they all go way off topic.
Back on topic, John posted some new pics today on the steves site at the end. you will not be disappointed |
wow. 'bout all I can say... wow :wow: Ran across the posts last night and have been scoping the pix, really cool setup. I intend to transplant the C6 stuff to a "horse" of a different color due to superior design and ease, and the 66/67 Novas are really one of my favorite Chevy body styles, so cool indeed.
Is there a particular reason you made upper control arms v. using the stock Vette parts? |
Better instant center points, better roll center, better shock body clearance in the rear. We dont have to lay the shocks so far over they barely work. That is just a few of the rearsons. Oh and we mad them longer then stock to improve the ratio to the bottom. We also improved the ball joint angle in the rear to be able to get the suspension to droop al little farther to get the wheel off. This nova is pretty low and that tire is stuffed in there pretty far. Plus there will be 335/30/18 BFG's in the rear.

Rodger that fan shroud is bad a$$!!! Even better than when you described it. The strut tower brace how is that going to fasten? Will it be permanently welded or removable?

If you look below the radiator you can see the brake and power steering cooler duct work taking shape. It is awesome. thanks for all the comments, It has turned into an amazing work of art, too bad John has lost interest and only talks about mustangs and tennis shoes anymore. This project is like a stepchild, compared to the pony car......haha |
If you don´t love this car you´r...........nuts!
|
One of the top Pro-Touring cars IMO. Can't wait to see it done.
|
WOW.... Thanks guys. We still have a lot of work to do. But we will be in Columbus next year.
|
Yes, yes , yes !!!
 |

You gonna be part of the gang next year? Any chance the bathtub will make it there? John |
Hi John !
Car is looking awesome still. Really looking forward to the solidworks parts install and seeing the sheetmetal finishing up. Ironworks crew certainly doing a great job ! I plan to spend the entire week in Columbus in 08 and catch up with everyone. Doubt the 356G will get there with me - unless something miraculous happens. I haven't spent much time on it at all this summer - although I have worked on it the past 2 weekends starting the frame fab. You pick a paint color yet ?? Jim |
