Ultimate LSx Build

I would imagine that this question has been on here before, but I couldn't find it on a search... If you were to build the ultimate LS motor, what would it be? Not like an unlimited budget, I mean price/performance. LS1? LS2? LS7? Tubocharged, supercharged, or NA? In your opinions what would be the most potent, most cost effective build possible? I've got my own opinions, but I'm hoping to see them validated...

I think it would be a LS2 with a supercharger.
LS2 motor can be bought for relativeley cheap compared to the LS7, then add a supercharger. Turbos have alot more cost involved.

Why not an LS3?

LS-2's on ebay are about 100:1 vs. LS-3's. At least for now. Plus, with a SC you can make some pretty respectable HP with a stock LS-2 bottom end.

$$$/hp is a pretty good deal, with this combination.

I think I'm leaning toward a Turnkey LS2 with a procharger, but grudgingly.

I really like the idea of a built LS2 with a pair of turbos on it, just because sky's the limit for hp. I guess to make that happen though you're looking at just too much more $$$$.

Price/"on demand" performance - tough to beat a 5-7 psi ProCharger on a junkyard LS2 and with a carb instead of EFI.

bruce what kind of numbers are you talking about from the carbed ls2? TIA

Carb is not an option. It has to be bleeding-edge technology, even if it is push rod :P .

You will make alot of power with the turbos but you can also upgrade prochargers D1 F1 F2 F3

Checkout Magna-charger, they hooked up one of their SC's to a stock LS2 Vette and made about 700 hp.

To me thats a pretty sweet deal, and I think it has the inter cooler built into it. (Actually Underneath)

Turbo's Rock, but the easy install on this is hard to beat.

For me, 600 RWHP would be the max I would want anyway. You can haul ass and still have a very reliable engine.

I agree 100% 600 RWHP is more than enough for reliable street driven car.

But where to get "best" boost ready crate 402 LS2 ?

How about SLPs ZL402 ? How important is the "better material" exhaust valve in supercharged engine ?
