I like the idea of building a 79, you dont see many 79s anymore.

Looks like a great project! And there's nothing wrong with not haveing a name!! It's been 6 yrs and mine is still unnamed! ;)

Camaro? :D

Honestly, I think names are lame. I know alot of people on here have names for their cars, which I have no problem with, though it seems like its a trendy thing to me. I'd say if it makes its own name so be it, but i'd aim for "that cool car."

Thanks for all the kind words. will try and keep the pics coming after i install the new parts

There's a rotted 79 in my driveway. I wish it'd disappear, it has become a source of friction in my marriage.
Now that being said, I think you should call it the Disco 'Z' then you can be in the same situation I am in. In todays society, all citizens should be treated equally. Names really are getting old, I blame the media like everyone else. Be different and just call it 'your car' |

IHO...a nickname comes from the car. In frankenstangs situation "Friction" would be a good nickname. Sooner or later it will let you know, if it's supposed to have one. |

We started calling mine WTF! after the engine locked up. Just sitting at a stop light when all of a sudden.....BANG! BANG! BANG!.........and then nothing. Hope yours doesn't end up getting a name that way. lol

I think bubble boat would work, lots of peope think our older cars are boats.
I call mine the goat or box boat |
I also think Project names are a little corny .. but I have given my two projects names, mostly following the crowd. I will say that they are helpful in a forum setting as one can easily associate a particular build. Its easier to remember "Bad Penny" then a "Nice 68 Camaro"; and as new post or variations threads occur I can better follow/identify them. The big builds also use it to help better associate the car long after a build is complete. Take the car above ... two years from now most currently in this forum will know exactly what "Bad Penny" is/was. As people walk away from SEMA many still recall a project name and the booth (a nice marketing outcome). However, as we know, it appears that in some cases if someone puts on new rims/tires they give it a project name. If it makes you feel good – name your project; just post a lot of pictures. As others have mentioned a name is best when it comes from a situation related to the car or the builder.

I recognize this one. Looks the same here as it did on Nasty!
I dont have a name for either of mine. I was going to call the Camaro Franken/Z but thought it sounded kinda gay. If I could think a decent one maybe it would stick, like a catchy license plate or something. 1320Z28 was the best I could come up with. |
