St. Louis residents or "in the know" help please.

I have to spend this weekend in the big city with the little lady and was wondering what part of town to stay in, what sites (possibly auto related) to visit, and a couple of "have to visit" eaterys, Any help would be appreciated as this is my first visit, Actually any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Guys

Did you want to stay in the downtown area? Or the outskirts?

bucks69 01-10-2008 05:15 AM

Downtown probably, but we will be visiting the ST. Louis Mills, whatever that is. lol

This place is in St. Charles, but it is fun to walk through on a cold winter's day:

bucks69,

How was your trip and what did you end up doing?

bucks69 01-16-2008 01:05 PM

Sean, Thanks for asking, We had the time of our life. We did the Budweiser tour and won the special decanter set at the end of the tour, Transportation museum was cool but i wish there had been more vehicles, Went to the top of the arch, (very cool) St Louis Zoo was the best zoo I have ever been to, We eat at Milo's bar and grill in "the hills" good food but too crowded (football game) as was every other Italian place there on Saturday night. Also went to the Soldiers Memorial, Bass Pro and Cabelas. We didnt make any Automobile museums but we are making return plans to do those very soon. Oh BTW the next time I come I will not leave TOM-TOM at home because as much as we stayed lost we could have hit up a few more places...LOL Thanks guys for all the recommendations.

Glad you had a great time. Call me an idiot but was is TOM-TOM?

bucks69 01-16-2008 01:24 PM

Tom-Tom is a GPS for the vehicle where you type in address or even a Name and it will find it and show you the directions step by step in real time. Pretty neat peice of electronics, It will also let you Bloetooth your phone thru it but mine gives a lot of feedback and static so I dont use it much.
