this is my 2008 fun /show car, it has a lot of custom metal work. check out the 3 in extended hood, rear spoiler, front spoiler, & rocker trims. i moved the master cylnder in under the dash to be super clean. my goal is to try to hide every thing for a super clean look. i am running a martz subframe w/their road race package & willwood brakes. the power train will be a 454 /450 hp ,currently being built by shawn ridgley. a turbo 400 tans. w/2500 stall , by gipes transmissions will transfer the power to a 3;55 possi rear, w willwood 12in disc brakes on the back. i started this car on 1/15/08 and my goal is to have it ready to drive to ocean city md on 5/16/08. i do collisoin work for a living and plan to spend all my spare time on this project,& to meet my goal ,i will spend 60 hr per week on this project . i will try to update my pics every sat. to sum up this project i would say "very little mail order, a whole lot of custom fab" and thats only because i cant afford to max out my visa. my father calles this "inspiration thru desperation" tanx for checking in, bill
we now have the majorioty of the metal work done, exterior is in 2k primer, wheels & tires are fit. (thanks boze) we got the engine back from ridgleys(thanks shawn) this comming week we will wrap up the metal work ( hard top boot & engine covers) & finish the mechanical mock up . i need to have the body on the rotisorrie by 3-10 ,in order to meet my goal of paint work complete by 3/31 that will give me 6 weeks for the final assembly& de-bug-ing. seems like a lot of time, but i know i will be adjusting something 2 minuites before we leave for o.c. lol bill got the underside blasted ,some one really coverd up some serious hack work. had to cut out the floor wholesale, and between the rails in the rear. oh well now the painting of the under side will be easier. |
Plans sound good! Can you post the pics so we can see it?...lol

Welcome aboard
That little town of Chambersburg must be a hot bed for Camaro's in the northeast. I passed through there a couple weeks ago visiting Jason at G Force. He's got a big ole shop there. He had a bunch of projects going to. He builds some pretty badd ass stuff. He has been posting updates on his Demon project. Maybe you guys should race them when their finished. One of those small town rivalry things, LOL! |
Welcome and sounds like a cool project!

Just when I was feeling good about the gaps and fitment on my car along comes another body man making me feel bad. LOL.
Welcome aboard. Great looking rag top, Bill. I will enjoy watching your progress. What colors are you contemplating, again? What about the top/interior? Jim |

Bill,
Does Hartz make tops pre-cut for a 69 or are you just ordering the material and having a shop fabricate it? What vendor are using for the Hartz? I am pretty close to looking for one myself and have decided on a canvas or "mercedes" style top. I have heard that it is sometimes called "stayfast". Not sure though. Jim |
