LSX / LS7 / DSE / AME Stainless Header news

OK, so I have some exciting news for those running LS motors in DSE and Art Morrison subframes. We now have a set of stainless works headers to fit all LSX engines in these frames EXCEPT LS7 / LS3 / L92 engines (thanks Jimmy).

Now for the big news. Prodigy Customs will have 1 7/8" LS7 / LS3 / L92 headers for DSE and AME subframes in 6 weeks. As we speak we are going back and forth with Stainless Works moving some tubes. Tweaking for the perfect stainless works fit. We are doing the R and D here at Prodigy and will have Stainless Works / Prodigy Customs LS7 headers available through Prodigy Customs only.

Pricing should be $1200 to $1400, which for stainless is a real deal.

Great news Frank! And as you know we need to see pics asap ;)

murtah 02-26-2008 01:28 PM

Awesome news, Frank. Put me down for the 1st set of LS7 headers for the DSE sub.
The LS3/L92 head has the same exhaust port, so the LS7 header shouldn't be just a niche market.

In about 18 months most of the crate motors being bought will have the LS3/L92 heads on them. These headers are going to sell. Stainless works will thank you for all of the R&D you are doing for them.

Jim

Cool. Having 304 stainless headers made for those subs for us LS guys will be great.

96z28ss 02-26-2008 08:36 PM

Doesn't the current SW LS1/Wayne Due header already fit these other subframes?

What they should do is also make sure they fit with a mcleaod bell housing which they don't currently.
I'm going to trim my bell housing a bit to make it fit.

XcYZ 02-26-2008 08:51 PM

That's great news, Frank.

ProdigyCustoms 02-26-2008 10:03 PM

The Wayne Due headers will fit the DSE frame, but the jury is still out on the AME frame with LS1s, but they are not correct for LS3 / LS7 / L92 which have a slightly different port location, and are deisigned for 1 7/8 or bigger tubes.

Looks like when all is said and done they will be unique to these 2 frames. Your bellhousing issue is being looked into, and will be one of the changes requiring a new part number.

Nice work Frank. The LS7/LS3/L92 guys now have a header option if they can't afford ATS's SS headers. Definitely put me down for a set.

How about a 2" primary option for guys that prefer them? The big cubed LSX could sure use them too.

ProdigyCustoms 03-14-2008 03:36 AM

Frank,

Thanks again for your hard work with this. I had to get custom headers for my setup and it set us back for weeks. This will help many seeing as how the Ls7/3 is will be the popular setup for some time to come.

Should have been done already, but I have to finish them myself and ................UGH! I am down to the last 2 tbes on the drivers side, but have not touched it in a month.

ProdigyCustoms 08-29-2008 08:41 AM

I will have the production prototypes back next week for final fit. Then we build. They are pretty nice. clear everything very well. Starter goes in and out with no issue, tons of steering shaft clearance. Only 1 1/4" under frame.
