Mali2ude final build for Power Tour 08
I'll keep this thread updated as I put the car back together for (hopefully) Power Tour this year. Just picked up the car Sunday. Paint looks great, went with a darker color than originally planned; it's a BMW color called sparkling graphite. We aren't going to color sand and buff the car for a couple months to let the paint cure some.
Jim Ramirez (my friend who did the body and paint on the car) came over today and shot the bottom with a bedliner product. I was going to do it myself, but since he offered (I ain't no fool! :unibrow: ). Looks great, and should last forever. The chassis was taken apart and re-detailed Sunday/Monday. I had totally wrapped the freshly powdercoated frame and suspension in saran wrap for the trip to Jims for paint and bodywork. That worked great, no overspray, just lots of dust to hose off. I also added my new ATS spindles and new Touring Classic front brakes with Baer Eradispeed rotors while I had the chassis out; what nice stuff, thanks to them for a great product. Anyway, I lowered the body back on the chassis tonight and will be going full-speed to get this thing back together. Here's a few pics. http://www.camcojb.com/temp/malitude%20220.jpg http://www.camcojb.com/temp/malitude%20221.jpg http://www.camcojb.com/temp/malitude%20239.jpg http://www.camcojb.com/temp/malitude%20240.jpg |

Jody,
Looks great. The new color came out terrific. As the proud new owner of a 64 twin turbo Malibu I can truly appreciate how bad ass your car is. Take care, Chris |
Interesting use of a 4 post lift. I like it! Color looks great, what color is the interior going?

yeah, your car is the reason I couldn't go back with red............... :D Just kidding, but we don't need two red twin turbo 64 Chevelles! Your car looks great. |

Two twin turbo Chevelles in NorCal
Jody,
As much as I like my Malibu your car is (more than a few) notches up. Thanks for the compliments though. After seeing your pics I went out in the garage, peeled back the cover and just stared. Took a quick garage shot so I can stare from inside the house. http://www.fototime.com/inv/EF57F7D123726B8 To really see pictures hosted on this site you need to click on any one picture to start a slide show of 5X8 sized pictures and then once inside the slide show you can click on any 5X8 picture to see it full size. Are you planning on going out to the Good Guys show in late March? You can take one of your other toys. Chris |
Looks great Jody! That frickin motor is sick man, definately one of my favorites! I'm actually sitting down for once. My car's back at the body shop for a couple touch up's and final wetsand and rub before Autorama. I'm very glad to be finished with what you are just starting! Have fun, don't work to hard!
|
Jody the car looks fantastic! Love the motor and color
Chrismoe, nice score on that TT Chevelle. |
Looking great Jody, I'm loving the new color choice! Keep on task and you'll do fine getting it done. take care Joe.

Jody,
Like all of your projects before..its looking incredible. The paint is so right on that body style..very bad ass! I thought for some reason that your serp trac drive system was powder coated black? OK well just maybe the old age has finally caught up with me on this one though..lol:  The pictures are great..can't wait until you fire up that dude! And don't be scratching up that new finish! Drop cloths are friends! All the best! -Jim |
:hail: Jody. Awesome.
