Ridler cars?

So what Ridler cars do we know about for next weekend? I know Neil Lea has a bad ass wagon going. I think Divers street rods is taking a ferrari rambler.

Nate_ERC 02-28-2008 07:11 AM

Fun stuff! I hope some one posts lots of pictures, can't make it this year. :(

ironworks 02-28-2008 07:36 AM

Not until after will we get to see.

amaronut 03-02-2008 05:39 AM

Heard that the Ridler is going to soft this year. No Chip or anyone else which maybe now someone else will have a chance.
Scotts Hot Rods re-did their 32 after getting beat last year at Detroit and went out and won the AMBR for this year, good for them.

They needed to do more than redo it....not sure how it won the AMBR.

Isn't there a 57 Chevy that has a twin turbo Nelson Racing big block going this year?

It's another year off. I drew it up over 4 years ago and Scott has a ton of progress done but it takes crazy hours to do all the details necessary for a Ridler car unless the customer can afford to throw $$$ at a ten man crew.

Smittys67 03-04-2008 07:14 PM

Should be an interesting year, this will be the first year that ISCA judging will decide the winner and not the MHRA. After being in the great 8 last year and having microscopic flaws ripped apart instead of being judged on difficulty of build it should make a much more level playing field.

ironworks 03-04-2008 09:06 PM

The craig naff bodied car your guys took there last year was amazing.

kennyd 03-05-2008 01:57 PM

so far i hear neal lee's 56 wagon is the badass of the show . BUT not all cars are there yet .

And instead of only rewarding obsessive compulsive disorder and additional points for adding gingerbread and clutter, there should be points for contemporary style and good taste!

Anyone know what the weather is like there right now. I heard 7 inches of snow was forecasted. Our camaro that Jason helped me with the design is in transport right now-it is scheduled to move in tomorrow at 5pm. It is not a Ridler car but we are excited to be there.

Mike

Smittys67 03-05-2008 06:07 PM

I was in the Detroit area today and the roads were clear. They do have alot of snow on the ground.

monza 03-05-2008 07:16 PM

Is there a web site with the current entries?
thanks

RECOVERY ROOM 03-05-2008 07:21 PM

Try streetrodderweb.com to see if any posted, they were quick last year.

JayR 03-06-2008 07:52 AM

Word from the Divers crew is they're all moved in and so is Neil Lea's wagon which looks killer to them and Tucci's been pulling all-nighters and hadn't left NY as of midnight EST.

They said there's also a super nasty Chevelle there.

NOVA 03-06-2008 03:19 PM

Pics!

Who's going to be the first to post some pics??? would love to see the wagon and the chevelle and anything else thats cool!

69c4x11 03-06-2008 07:20 PM

Since the show has now opened. I could post this from 1.5 years ago.
It was bad ass then, I can only imagine.

Photos have no affect on qualification but I respect if Neil asked you to keep them under wraps. Remember how many photos we saw of Grand Master and Impression well before they were done?

Neil has a great eye and that thing looks incredible. Can't wait to see it at a Goodguys show and walk around it for 90 minutes!

Great 8 is being announced right now and Ferrambo and Neil are in as well as a black 32 Ford and a bitchin 56 Chrysler 300 wagon built in Canada by JF Launier. Year of the wagon, I guess. Haven't heard the other four yet.

Al Moreno 03-07-2008 08:26 AM

That things sick, I love the doors lines.

Thanks for posting:thumbsup:

ironworks 03-07-2008 10:38 AM

I thought you could not post anything after bare metal of the car until after the show. I will look and see if I have some paint pics still. I talked to one of his customers and he did myake the great 8.

RDuke 03-07-2008 11:00 AM

For those of us not able to make the show when can we expect pictures of the final 8?
