Whos running Budnik wheels?

Im considering wheels from Budnik, is anyone running them and if so how do you like them? Have any pics?

Budnik Fontana's- Love them, quality is great, certainly a beeotch to keep clean, although any high polished aluminum wheel is gonna be that way especially if you log miles.

I have been running 17 in Famosas for about 4 years now, I like them alot. Cleaning is made easier with the maguires mini power ball though. I will probably be looking for another wheel next year and Budnik will probably one of my first choices. If I were to recommend anything, get them with the flush mounted valve stems located on the inside of the wheel.

So good quality wheels then? I kinda like these, the rocker, gtx and sapphire. Ive never heard of a flush mounted valve stim, cool. Do I request that when i order the rims?

We had a car in the bidnik booth this year at sema. They are good guys we use them on lots of our cars. Quality is outstanding.

DWMotorsports 03-02-2008 08:22 PM

We have had Budniks on many of our vehicles over the years. We have been using them for over a decade. We are very happy with the quality.

i have budnik "ice" 8x19 and 10x20 on my road runner....with clear-coating on surface...
the quality is perfect, and with clear-coating you don't need to polish everytime the wheels... ;)

I ordered a set for my 68 Firebird through Tim at PRRC. Great guy and made the process very simple. Can't wait to get them and post pics!

Dodgenut64 03-03-2008 01:04 PM

Ill will be ordering my wheels from PRRC. Thanks for the quote Tim.

Dodgenut64 03-05-2008 03:04 PM

Im considering the clearr powercoated finish on a brushed center (budnick rocker. Has anyone had this done, and if so, its it worth it? I guess another way to ask is, does it cut down on the cleaning time of each wheel or is it just for looks? Anyone got any pics or suggestions?

Dodgenut64 03-07-2008 11:34 AM

Do the X series Budnik wheels come with a stock center cap or do you have to order tham seperately?

DHARROD 03-07-2008 12:38 PM

Budnik supplies a center cap - a "stock" one most likely won't fit.

PRRC 03-07-2008 04:14 PM

The Budnik wheels come with the x series caps and they also come with lugs. They will look like this.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Tim

Dodgenut64 03-08-2008 10:08 AM

Thanks for the reply. I guess the center cap will get brushed along with the center? Cool, lug nuts also huh? Ill be ordering up some wheels in about two weeks. Rockers, 17x7 5x4.5, polished outer, brushed center, 4.5 bs. Gotta find a place around here that sells some BF goodrinch tires to fit. Im thinking 215/45/17, maybe abit taller of a sidewall. I cant decide on powder coated centers yet, I think it might shine the centers up more than I want. Looking on Budniks website under "finishes", the ones just marked as "brushed" only look about how i want my wheels. The ones mark "brushed and polished" look a little too shinny in the center.
Do they drill the holes for the valve stems where you want them?

I use Budnik all the time as well, there are ups and downs to all the wheels companies out there. The one thing I do not like about them is that they are soft so they dent easy, pain in the you know what to keep clean and if you damage them they take for every to get fixed. Budnik builds sick wheels that have been around for many years. The one piece stuff is getting into the 3 piece wheel prices so there are some things to consider when buying wheels. take your time and pick the wheels you like the most for the money.

Budnik Wheels

Sorry to throw this in here but PRRC can't receive a private message as a result of their message storage exceeding limits per an error I am getting when trying.

Tim,

I am currently down to wheels and tires to finish off a 67 Camaro. I have been looking at Intro, Billet Specialties, and Budnik. I am located in Bedford, IN about a hour and a half south of you so it would be nice to be able to come in and deal with someone in person, bring in the wheels I have on the car, have you double-check my measurements to agree before ordering, etc. You have quite a few references on Leteral-g that sound happy.
Do you have Schott Americana or Budnik Fontana fat lip examples in stock? I am going to be in Indy on the 24th so I would like to know what you do have in the shop to look at.

I am looking at 20x11 or 12 and 18x 7 or 8
Is there much price difference between the two brands?

Thank you,

hey if you go to DSE's site and look under rear suspension, then click the 2nd gen mini-tub picture, scroll down and you will see a set of budnik ice w/brushed centers and chrome lip on a blue camaro. i just ordered these wheels from tim at prrc. great guy. i had a hell of a time deciding on which finish to go with as well. i'm not a fan of bling so i think these will look great without shouting at you

PRRC 03-09-2008 02:39 PM

Carey, We cleared some space in our PM box. By all means drop by and we can get the back spacing you will need. We have an Ice wheel on display. We also have a trig with powder coated centers you can take a look at.
Thanks Tim
