Shift knobs: what u got?

Ok, so I was perfectly happy with my white shift knob with the 6 speed pattern engraved, but recently my wife said it was ugly. So I started looking at different options. I really like the Sparco R-SPEED shift knobs, and it got me thinking, what are all you guys using for shift knobs?

I am using an MBA brushed aluminum

on a Lou's short stick, Pro 5.0 shifter

I was thinking a white knob with black engraved 6 speed pattern for my Pro-5.0 T56 combo... Where did you get yours XcYZ?

I have a Hurst Leather knob that the SS Camaro had. It has a soft feel that your wife might like.:unibrow:

That's exactly what I have, I think I got it at Jeg's... I've had it quite a while.

Here's the Sparco knob that I like, but I'm trying to find out what it has for threads and if it comes with any thread adapters.

It looks like Sparco is getting deeper in to my pocket. Let me know how it works out if I don't beat you to it.

I called SparcoUSA and asked how it worked. The shift knob is a slip fit and is held on with 3 set screws, then the bottom collar, the part that's not annodized in the picture, then slides up and covers the set screws.

Steve:

What shifter do you have in Penny?

I would like to find a short throw, tight pattern shifter.

Thanks,

Ty

SpeedyV10 03-08-2008 06:47 AM

Got the Sparco shifter knob last week, what a beautiful piece. I got it in the car, and once I get the interior in, I'll take some pics.

So, Scott, is it worth the money, ad in that nice, I'm looking for something too, had a white knob, wasn't too fond of it,

XcYZ 03-26-2008 07:51 AM

I scored it off an Ebay store that had a pretty good discount off retail. Personally, I think it's a nice touch to the interior and worth the money.

Stuart Adams 03-26-2008 08:15 AM

I'm also in the market for one.

Scott, is the black band around the shifter made of rubber?

Steve, is your shifter knob leather?

It's real hot here in the summer and ant metal shifter gets so hot you can't even touch it.

I like both those.

mazspeed 03-26-2008 09:43 AM

I could use one as well with a rubber or leather wrap. Anything for a TKO-600?

Stuart, the one that is pictured isn't made anymore, so I got the one that looks just like it, but instead of having a black painted area, it has leather in that spot.

shift ball

I run a www.billetballs.com drilled one. It's amazing how little it weighs.
