HOW TO Embed YouTube videos
I had setup the code to embed YouTube videos in posts a while ago, but I finally added an clickable icon to make it easier. If anyone wants to do it, here's how:
First, get the YouTube video ID, it's the info that follows the "=" in the URL of the video on YouTube. See image below. Highlight that info and click copy. https://lateral-g.net/temp/video_embed02.jpg Next, to add the video to a post, click on the 'video' icon. See image below. https://lateral-g.net/temp/video_embed01.jpg Finally, with your cursor between the YouTube BB tags, right click and paste the YouTube ID. That's it. Done. https://lateral-g.net/temp/video_embed03.jpg The final result will look like this: |

Scott --
Is this something built into vBulletin everywhere or just here at Lateral-G? Very cool! |
Steve, you need to add the code to vBulletin to allow for embedding.

damn youtube always boggles my mind.

I'm re-hashing this old thread. I still cannot get the video to work. I have YouTube set to public also, so it's not that.
I did exactly as instructed above. Has something changed since this post was first "stickied" 16 years ago? |
