67 Tempest - New to Lateral-g
3 Attachment(s)
Hi my name is Johnny!
I accidentally stumbled on this website while Googling. Glad I did because there are some awesome cars on this website. Hope to meet some people and learn more about Lateral-g. Here are a couple pics of my car, which is a 1967 Pontiac Tempest. Most of what I've done to it is to swap out the front end and replace with a GTO front end, although I'm not planning to clone my car into a GTO. I just liked the scooped hood and mesh grille styling better than the Tempest. I also replaced the stock 326 that came with the car and built up a 455 motor for it with Holley 750 DP, Dougs Headers, dual Flowmaster 40's exiting the rear, but right after the headers I did install DMH electric cutouts. Next on my list is to replace the wheels and tires and that's how I stumbled on this site. Originally I was planning on running 17's all around, but now if possible I may opt for 19/20 combo. Here are a few pics of my ride. Johnny  Attachment 11314Attachment 11315Attachment 11316 |

Some Rushforth Concept I's would fit that car nicely! http://www.rushforthwheels.com/wheels/ConceptI.jpg |

Welcome :lateral: |
Welcome! Nice looking car. How long have you been using the exhaust cutouts? What size are they? Any problems with them? How do you like them?

And then the size too, not sure if 19/20 or 18/19 combo would look better. On the cutouts, they are DMH electric cutouts 2 1/2" and seal very well. Actually they seal better the more they are used over time. I've had the cutouts on there for about 8 months now and love them. I have a toggle switch under my dash and I just flip from on to off to open and close the cutouts. I love to hear the sound of open headers and it's great seeing all the looks you get from people when cruising around. Here's some closer pics of them. Johnny Attachment 11324Attachment 11325 |
That car is sweet! A bit of a change from the norm around here and that's a good thing!! You'll find plenty of know how and advice here. That and lots of ways to spend your hard earned money.

Very nice ride. I would lean to 18/18 or 18/19 I've been dediding for almost a year looking at every 66/67 Abody pic I can find with big wheels. I have only seen a few 20's that looked right and they were wide and require major surgery. To me a 20 x 10 looks too tall and skinny on the car.
