Keep in mind the car has air bags and that is with the air all the way out. Ride height will be 2-3 inches higher.

InMotionJosh 05-07-2008 05:07 PM

I know I shouldnt let this out of the bag yet but I just cant sit on these pictures. We put the body back on to check for clearances so that the tranny tunnel could be made. Body work is starting now but this is just back from media blast and primered.

Let me know what you think. Lots of new pics coming in the next week or so, be on the lookout.

How far are the headers from the floor pan? I'd be worried about those hanging that low.

I just moched up a BBC in my '66, and the headers were about 1.5" from the floor, but didn't apear to hang as low as yours. I ended up taking about 1" off each tube to get them tight to the floors. Not they're up a little more then the stock crossmember.

G-Body 05-07-2008 07:09 PM

Wow awesome whats not to like about the baddest muscle car ever built!

Keep in mind the car has air ride and that is with no air in the bags. The headers are about 2 inches from the ground, maybe slightly less but the car would not be able to drive at that height. I think they will ride about 4.5-5 inches from the road.

Just a couple more pictures from today. Just added some corvette valve covers and painted my intake until the new bling shows up.
Also got my 3.5" Aluminum drive shaft from Inland Empire Drive Line. Just wanted to thank everyone at Inland Empire, great service, fast turn around, and they make it very easy to order the right piece the first time. Top quality! THANKS!

Cool slick shifter. Any fear the heat will affect the electronics?

Mal

I have questioned the same thing. The company that makes it says there will be no problem as they have done 100s of them. I will wrap the box and or the header with some heat tape to protect it.
