Sorry about the issue with your other thread!! :_paranoid |
Love this build, keep the pics coming. I'm already subscribed.
|
Joe, did you order those seats from Corbeau without the covers?
|
my son and i will be watching for more updates. we are attempting to build a 67 barracuda with a 340. he really likes the lime green with some black in the paint scheme.

Any more progress?

some progress
the driver side quarter was sticking out a little to far so it had to be cut and pushed in. Also the shaved door handle kit and indicator lights came in. dont worry about the gaps between the fender/door/quarter there just placed on for now
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i165/jsv08/16.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i165/jsv08/17.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i165/jsv08/18.jpg |
I was at my grandfathers yesterday and i figured i'd take a few pics of some burried treasure sitting in his cellar for you guys. Its my uncles 63 split window who lives across the country. its been sitting there for a while, he did a bunch of work to it and the motor back in the day. tail lights are from a catalina.

the dash will be green and the padding wrapped in the leather http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i165/jsv08/22.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i165/jsv08/19.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i165/jsv08/20.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i165/jsv08/21.jpg |
Wow....look at those intake runners. (stump puller)
|
got it all in primor today. the bottom of the intakes were almost hitting the inner fender so i cut out there big pieces that were used for some stock stuff back in the day. made a lot more room
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i165/jsv08/23.jpg the pieces cut out http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i165/jsv08/24.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i165/jsv08/25.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i165/jsv08/26.jpg |
Liking that old school intake!
Pops Vette is pretty slick, tell him I said to get that thing out and ENJOY IT!! |
theres, been mostly body work going on, nothing exciting enough for pictures lately, but i got the dash painted and threw the cd player and gauges in for looks, theres top and bottom dash pads that are going on that will match the interior, still undecided on the color for the interior
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_01571.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_01581.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_01591.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_01601.jpg |

nice day so we rolled her out. Worked on the front seats and mounting them and putting in a center council through to the back. Problems with the center council you can tell in the straight on pictures how the tunnel is off set so gotta figure what im doing there. in the works...
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_01621.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_01641.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_01651.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_01681.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_01671.jpg |
Got the seats "officially" mounted and put the door actuators in, a lot of people were saying how the cables eventually stretch out so we got some little blocks machined out and tapped so we could use a rod to pull the door so we wont have to worry about them stretching
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_02111.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_02131.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_02171.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_02161.jpg |
That's gonna be badass!
One question though, Which door popper set (shaved handle kit, which ever you call it) Did you use for the Dart? I've been pondering it and haven't heard of anyone using any specific brand aside from maybe Electric Life. |
I got the kit from autoloc its in a lot of the magazines, they're cartoony lookin ads. The kit is awsome and works great. I got the 50lb. solenoids, they're more than enough to open the door without even using the little popper helpers. heres the link to it

little update. cut the holes in the hood for the air cleaners, nothings bolted down just sitting on the carbs for looks.ones taller cuz we just had two different size carbs and cleaners to throw on. they look small in the pics but they're nice and beefy in person.
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_03051.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_03151.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_03111.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_03161.jpg |
Wasn't originally going to do this, but doing anything other than polishing them would be the lazy way out. Started sanding them and a lot more sanding to do, and then some more sanding.

Wow. That's incredible. Having just sold my camaro, there's two Darts I'm looking at and one is a 440. I had a 340 Duster back in the day and am getting fired up reading about your project.

Love those old Mopar cross rams, you had to watch those most were designed for the Max Wedge heads and had a much taller port opening.they would bolt on,but the ports didn't match.Love the use of old retro parts, really cool.Ron

We got our other dart in the garage and started working on the center council, its gonna be fiberglass then painted the color of the car with the speakers on each side. Man is it nice working on the inside of a car when its convertible. Heres the first steps.
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_04421.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_04431.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_04471.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_04461.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1.../100_04441.jpg |
Heres a few pics of the council, we switched up the front cause the round look just wasn't looking good. Also added an arm rest/storage compartment.

well the first attempt at the center console with that grill cloth was a failure but got it right this time, just layed some fiber glass cloth down and put the hardner on it and let it sat over night, then stapled them to the sides of the console, not we got to cut the extra off add some layers, sand and paint
