New Rushforth Strutters Helped Me Win Good Guys!!

4 Attachment(s)
Well many, many, many thanks to Jon at DriverzInc and Jason Rushforth for designing some kick azz wheels!! They manufactured and delivered my wheels as promised last Thursday and just in time to debut them at the Good Guys show in Del Mar.

The wheels are awesome and have totally transformed my Pontiac Tempest. So much so that I actually won an award at show called the "Flowmaster American Thunder Award"!! This was the first time showing my vehicle at any show and man was I surprised that I won. It was fun enough just participating in the show. But there is no way in heck that I would have won had it not been for these new wheels.

Thanks again Jon and Jason for coming through!! You have earned yourselves a loyal and devoted customer and friend!!

Well here they are folks... the new Rushforth Strutters!!!

congrats bud! Car looks killer!

JT_67Tempest 04-07-2008 11:08 PM

Thanks Chris, I appreciate it!

My next thing is to lower it a 2-3 inches to give it a better stance with the new wheels. Didn't have time to get that done before the show. Hopefully either this week or next, I'll get that done.

It is our sincere pleasure to have our wheels on your car, Johnny and couldn't have been happier to have you get a pick! Way to set the bar hign at your first Good Guys show!

The wheels look great on the car and definitely set it off but you guys wouldn't believe how clean and straight that car is. There is not one scratch or swirl in that black paint and it also helps having an attitude like Johnny's at a Good Guys show.

Thanks Johnny!

XcYZ 04-08-2008 09:11 AM

That's a beautiful car! Congrats, Johnny!

DDY RCKT 04-08-2008 09:21 AM

What a wonderful story with a fairy tale ending... really. Congratulations again Johnny, it was our pleasure to hang with you this weekend, and to be apart of your stunning ride. How did the video turn out I took with your camera of you driving through the winner's circle? I hope your kids were able to enjoy it....

Jon told me you had won but I hadn't seen the wheels on your car...

Must be great to sport such unique wheels on your ride in a sea of polished TTII's,huh...lol!

Congratulations once again. :woot:

69silverbird 04-08-2008 08:29 PM

sweet ride

Those wheels really make that car. If you lowered it a couple of inches It would be ridiculously bad.
I love you car. Nice:thumbsup:

Bad as in good

Looks great Johnny.

Quick bit of advice:Get yourself some cast-blast in a rattle can, spray it into a small container and brush it onto your master cylinder carefully. You won't even have to remove the lid, just remove the snap ring and work slowly & carefully.Since it's a cast finish,it'll look very professional after you're done.
You know how the eye always goes to the only defect and man...there's not much to fault with your ride man...
5 minutes worth of work will pay off handsomely...

Rybar 04-09-2008 02:14 PM

Congrats Johnny on the award. The car and wheels look fantastic.

kennyd 04-09-2008 02:16 PM

Yeah, I agree the brake reservoir is an eyesore. Is that the name of the product "cast-blast" and where can I buy some? That's definitely a quick mod worth doing.

Johnny

any good parts store will stock it,castblast is just a name used in terms of a shade of color but many will sell it as such.
I did mine quickly on my '70 Z/28 the day before the magazine shoot and it looked perfect in the pictures. Will take you all of 15 minutes...and you won't have to make any excuses to anyone when you lift your:thumbsup: hood.

Or, we can just do that Big Brake swap we looked at while we were in delmar:unibrow:

79ZED 04-09-2008 09:14 PM

Johnny, those Rushforths look absolutely awesome on your ride. A perfect compliment to the body style and the paint. Congratulations on a great build!

John

JayR 04-09-2008 11:56 PM

Paint it right after you install the drop springs! HAHA! But seriously, I love Johnny's car and people were all over it all weekend at the show with six figure cars all around us. I don't think Johnny was ready for it or realizes how cool his car is!

We're really stoked at the response to the new wheel design too. Thanks everybody! Johnny got the first set but they're available in any size and width and can be ready in 3-4 weeks!

fredd106 04-10-2008 01:05 AM

The car looks awesome. Jason told me about it but it was great seeing the pics. Jason--the wheels look killer. I can't wait to see it w/ a little lower stance. GREAT CAR!!

That mod is on my list though. After seeing the brakes up close, I really like the quality of the entire package.

Not yet, the wife kindly informed me that I have a birthday party to attend today for my nephew. I'm hoping we get back early enough that I can get out and try to paint it along with installing the pedals.

Probably won't be until next weekend now until I get around to it. I've got some hardwood flooring that I've neglected to finish working on because of the car. :unibrow: So gotta take care of that first and then I get back to the car.
