Updates on my 69 Camaro and the 2002 T/A interior!!

MAJOR UPDATE 7/27/05
Dash transition piece is in, stereo is in, and here are some videos of my Autometer gauges in action as promised.
I took the original 69 Camaro defroster vents and put them in the center of this piece I made out of 20 gauges steel. I might eventually cover it in leather. All gauges work 100%!!

Seriously, Very Cool.
Great looking layout.

No the passenger air bag is not functional.
Yes I took some pics with the lights on last night about midnight. I will also post those later today. I will probably also get video of the lights on at night.

It looks fantastic. Can I tell you it looks like a butt load of work to get that dash in there. Great job.

Looks really nice, one of the big problems with putting a 4th gen dashs in 1st and 3rd gens has always been that huge gap between the windshield and the dash, you've managed to fix them very nicely. You might try getting it painted or wrapped in the same stuff they use for the 4th gen dash pad, that way it looks even more factory. Again good job.

1968rsss 07-28-2005 02:20 PM

what about this ferrari video?

Mike Hall 07-28-2005 03:38 PM

That's awesome. I'm looking for me a dash now. LOL

Would there be room to use a factory late model AC system with this dash? I know there has to be a ton of room behind that dash. Also what all did it take to get the dash mounted? I sure would like to do this swap in my camaro being I already have an 2002 LS1 going in.

Thanks
Mike

Ricochet 07-28-2005 04:12 PM

Dash looks like it belongs there!! Very well executed.

Todds69 07-28-2005 04:44 PM

hotwheels 07-28-2005 10:01 PM

awr68 07-28-2005 11:10 PM

Very nice...but where are the new pics of the girlfriend?!? ;)

CAMAROBOY69 07-29-2005 09:39 AM

Sweet more postive feedback!! I will try to reply to everyone..

James
T/y.Your right it was a real pain. I havent decided if I want to paint it to match the dash or cover it in leather to match. Its far from finished. I am getting a feel for it right now and just needed something to cover up the hole between the dash while I attend the car shows coming up.

1968rsss
I wish! Mabey some time I can get video or pics of my Girlfriend driving the Camaro.

Mike
T/y Yeah as you said there is a ton of room between the dash and the firewall. Probably hide a body in there. 6 brackets I designed and made to get the dash in there.

Ricochet
T/y :)

Todds69
T/y Its not completely finished but a lot closer than it was. Im just happy to get rid of all the crappy cheap gauges I had lying around in there.

hotwheels
T/y I will be adding a few more lights to the dash. Lights for the heater switches and a couple lights by the door handles or center console just to liven it up a little.

awr68
lol At least your consistent. I will try to get a few of her this weekend. To hold you over just go to my first site and there are pics of her in there. She is also on my other sites. Those should definetly hold you over for a while. :unibrow:

Hope I didnt miss anyone. Thanks again for all the positive feedback.

That is gonna look excellent, be sure to add some more pic's as you get further along with the interior........

CAMAROBOY69 08-01-2005 07:56 AM

T/y I added the pics at night a few posts back.

I have recieved so much positive feedback from the interior and the gauges that I decided to sell the gauge pod to other people. I listed them on a few sites and also in here https://lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=1463
