I cannot recommend him more highly. |
WOW those look awesome on the car. What a whole different look they give.
|
Wow, those really do look great! Nice choice.
Any plans for the wheels they replaced? |
ahhh its ok. They would look better on the 70 Z-28.
LOL Allen gave me a dollar to say that. Looks killer John. |
Looking good
|
Nice:thumbsup:

Love those wheels John! They look killer on the Chevelle. Im going to get a set for my 1972 Z/28. They look kind of like a stylized SS/Z/28 wheel of that vintage! Great choice, they look great on your car. Do they make a 18x12 Huntington wheel like that? Tony:cheers:

Since they're custom made Tony, you can have them in any width you desire but anything over a stock 10" wide width...which these are...will cost you to have them widened.Contact Jon Henson @ www.driverzinc.com for some great advice & pricing.I was originally going with 335/30's on an 11" wide wheel but shelved that because I thought it would be too tight...and it would have been very tight. Here's a picture of the mockup w/the 335's: http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...n/DSC05028.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...n/DSC05035.jpg I agree they would have looked sick but I would have to have nailed it dead nuts to pull it off...and I don't think I'm that good. |
Sweet, Sweet, Sweet...
Did I say it looks SWEET? Great pictures John, and I'm happy that you are happy, and that the end result came out perfect. Thanks for the biz, I'm just happy to help a fellow enthusiast achieve the look he was going for, and to be a part of your car.
|
I'll apply my driverzinc sticker proudly Jon...to say I'm happy with the wheels and the service is a huge understatement:hail:
Send me a few license plate frames if you got any laying around and I'll rock those too.:woot: |

I'm good at buying though... |
Hey John, were the 335s Nittos? I like the tread on them. Your right tho it does look very close to that fender, but man it looks sweet with that much tire under there. I wouldnt have any problems though as my car has been tubbed. Talked to Jon, and said there was a little difficulty in gettig them ordered as you wanted them. They look great and fit well, and pull off a factoy custom appearance. Tony

no tony the 335s are michelins(spelling)

Woulda been a tight fit man... |

Any mods to wheel wells, or did they just bolt in??
Dig it |
Straight bolt-in man...thanks to Jon @ driverzinc of course.

I have a 69 Chevelle and really like your stance! |
Quote:
If I had to guess,I'd say it's at least 2-3 inches lower than stock but I'd be happy to measure for you if you'd like. A couple of guys thought I should lower it even further but I like the ride height right where it is...especially on the Nor Cal roads I travel on.:wow: |
Thanks John....no need to measure. That's about what I thought. I think that combo would look good on my 69 as well. I'll be about 2-3 inches lower than stock too. I was going to go with 315/30/18 in the rear but I don't think that would give me enough sidewall.
|
postino - youre right..... not enough sidewall and waaaayyy too short of a tire imho. look for something closer to the the 27" range. im personally going with a 305/35/20 which is 28.4" tall. yours comes out to about 25.4. my front tires are taller than that.
Tim |
Tim is right,I've had 30-series 20" tires on the back of this car and they looked like band aids.
My fronts are 25.57" tall and the rears are 26.4" tall so I've got that slight rake we all want built-in.I'm not sure if it's because they're drag radials but I think the rears have plenty of sidewall...tire program puts that @ 4.2" |
Thanks guys. I don't like the "band aid" look that's for sure. At least not on a car as big as a Chevelle. On others it looks okay, but on an A body you need some height!
....now if only I could decide on wheels I'd be set... |
