|
I didn't know the EXP coupe was fuel injected! I have a mustang coffee table book with some great pics of the car, but none with the air cleaner off.

The pictures all you Ford guys have been waiting for!!!

These were our options Boss 429 / Boss 302 / Tunnelport 427 http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...227_detail.jpg This one is actually going in a 23 T bucket. If anyone has a good memory, think back to Popular Hotrodding March of 71 on the cover, This is the motor to that T bucket, and we have the T bucket too, doing a restoration on it to the way it was in 71 http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...200_detail.jpg |
Boss 429 ok I'm drooling now.The green hornet was fuel injection the little red was not.But the green hornet was the only Shelby mustang with a irs in it.
|
Ooh, I like the tunnel port. Do you have anymore info on the 302. I don't recognize those valve covers. I thought all Boss 302's had cleveland heads and valvecovers?
|
Boss 302 Info
It is an original 69' Boss 302. The valve covers are original Ford Girdled Valve Covers they attach to the actual rocker studs with 7/16" nuts. 302 Boss Motors use a "cleveland style" head, not an actual cleveland head. The boss head has a coolant crossover that goes through the intake and the cleveland head does not. :captain:
|
Hes right a boss is a Windsor block the heads came out before there ever was a Cleveland engine.Ford did take the design of boss heads and put them on the Cleveland later on.Boss came out in 69 Cleveland didn't tell 70.
|
I've never seen that valve cover before, The only Boss 302 valve covers I have ever seen are the flat top production ones.
|
is that boss 302 for sale? and can we have a closer pic of the valve covers..ive never seen that style myelf..did this come out of Mustang?

Those valve covers are ultra rare. There was a guy on EBay selling a NOS set for approx $900 which sounds expensive but I think it is also a real girdle of some sort.
They were on there for months and then they disappeared. |
bummer
wish I would have know that. Yes you are right they are extremly rare now, they use to be an over the counter part.
|
He had them listed like 5-8 times. I do not think they ever sold. I was wacthing them but the auction is too old and comes up blank. He had them under a Pantera heading. There was even a mention of them on a couple of the Pantera Forums. Maybe with a post you can find him as he was selling other Pantera parts.
Good luck!! |
so give us the inside scoop...whats Chip have in the works? anything interesting? I got a chance to sit in the Foose 54 Chevy Cool-air last year..amazing car..super nice owner Mr Rydell...and he owns the Foose Grandmaster as a backup car..lol
|
Foose cars
He is just about finished up with a totally bad ass 70 HEMI Cuda, which I believe is going to be at SEMA this year, and a 71 Cutlass convertible for Tim Mcgraw, which too should be pretty sweet. He's got other projects but they are hush hush ridler stuff, so it's kind of like christmas you can't see your presents until Christmas day, so no peeking!!!

SEMA's Almost here and we're almost done
well it's been awhile since I was last on here but the car is almost done and it turned out a lot better than anticipated. The motor was a huge head ache. After sending it out for machine work we found that the heads were no good so we found an original set of 67 aluminum tunnel port heads, and then we ended up stroking the motor. Now we are pushing approx. 780 H.P. !!! The car will be in Gear Vendors Booth @ Sema next week be sure to stop by and check it out
