WOT Video
Been meaning to get a WOT video for a while now, and after a friend and I mounted the new Nitto drag radials Saturday night... what better excuse than to go try them out. The rears are Nitto 555R 335/30/18 and the fronts are Nitto 555 285/40/18.
WOT Video I left at about 2800, that's what most of the C6ZO6 guys are doing. I'll have to get it to the track and let some air out and see what it 60' and figure out how the car wants to be launched. I didn't heat them up and they have about 35psi in them, so it spun all the way through 1st gear. It hooked in 2nd though, which is a huge improvement over the Pilot Sports. With those tires, it would spin all the way through 2nd gear and a bit into 3rd. I love the Corsa mufflers! Driving down the road, you can't even hear the exhaust, but go WOT and they have a great sound. https://lateral-g.net/g69/project...s/nitto_10.jpg https://lateral-g.net/g69/project.../nittto_02.jpg And with the Nitto's mounted... https://lateral-g.net/g69/project...s/nitto_11.jpg |
I wonder if they launch better than my R888s???
They are both dimentionally the same and are both 100 treadwear. I want to try the dragstrip but don't really want to get another set of tires/wheels. BTW.. your car sounds GREAT! Very nice.. |

Cool
|
Scott, Whay size are the mufflers?
|
Jason, they are 2 1/2 in/out with no tailpipes. Right now, I'm doubting that I'll even bother with them - I'm really happy with everything now.
The Corsa part number is 8332551 (the Red series) if you want to check them out. |
Scott, you are naughty:rofl:
|
Sounds sweeeeeeeeet. I plan to do that with mine everytime I drive it! Do they make them in 3"?
|
No, only 2 1/2. That was something that I was concerned about and had talked to Corsa a few times on the phone on that very subject. I used Flowmaster 3 to 2 1/2 transistions for the mufflers (they have a 6" taper, so it's real gradual). If you hold the mufflers up, you can look straight through them. lol
With a baby cam, my car made 500rwhp through these mufflers, so I don't think that I'm losing much with them. |

Really? ****. Did you have the Sportsman XLs? Cuz I just got those and they are going on mine in the next week or so. Never heard any complaints about them droning really bad from anyone. Hmmm...... |
I'd like to see you setup if you have some pictures. Exhaust decision has to be made very soon. If you are making 500 rwhp then they should be just fine for me as well.
|
looks Great, sounds awesome!!
(you have to perfect the Rockford turn for those highway turn arounds!:willy: ) |
:woot: :woot: :woot:
|
Well I found my new mufflers!
Sounds intense! |
That was great Scott!

This was suprise to as well. I am sure they will be enough as 2,5" but since i am used to idea of 3" pipes its hard to come smaller. I am allso intrested more streetable mufflers for my car. What other choises there are in 3" size. Borlas? |
That really wasn't a bad launch for not having putting some heat in them. I know the Nitto's usually only require a short burnout, so maybe they were pretty damn close.
Sounds great! |
Wow!..What a beast! :lateral: :woot:
|
Rockford Turn LOL!
Nitto Drag Radials are a great all around drag radial. They hook good, they look good, and when i had them on my 85 Notch I could drive all over with them on the street and they rode just like a regular Z rated tire pretty much. I was always very happy with them. here's what results I have managed with them in the past... 1985 5.0 Mustang LX Coupe (many many mods but below are the basics...) 280 rwhp (estimated) Stock 93-95 Cobra shortblock/cam GT40X Heads Tremec TKO 5 speed 3.73 rear gear Stock 1985 suspension (at the time) 2950 lbs. (estimated weight) 13.2-13.3 with a 2.00 60 ft. time (BFG Street Radial Tire (non-Drag Radial) 12.93 with a 1.85 60 ft. time 105mph (Nitto 275-50-15 Drag Radial) I dropped 3/10 of a second just by mounting up a set of the Nitto DRs. I just got another set last week. Love these tires! I never did a John Force burnout, just hazed em up a bit and pulled forward. Put em at at 16 pounds - You can feel 'em getting stickier. Check out the pic, I even distorted the sidewall a little LOL! Scott got the results he and I both thought he'd get by just mounting them up. This is my 12.93 run at 105 mph... http://www.fquick.com/images/vehicles/full/7333136.jpg |
