New Life

5 Attachment(s)
I've had this car since 84' & this the third build. It was a
completly rust free car when I got it. The car has an LS7, ATS headers,
ATS pan, Peterson oil tank kit from ATS & ATS Sidewinder, UMI TB
and MEFI4 controller & harness. Ron Davis radiator, Ricks stainless tank.

I replaced the whole electrical system with painless 18 curcuit.
Vintage air AC

I used DSE control arms, coils & sway bar with ATS's AFX spindles,
670 steering gear. C5 brakes, Hydroboost.

Out back will be DSE Quadralink with a narrowed 9" and deep tubs.
ATS splined sway bar. It should be in soon.

That is an ATS Sidewinder setup; ultra stable even at high RPMs. Simply the best out there.

awr68 06-18-2008 10:38 AM

Very nice project! You will love it even more than before!! Are you doing SFC's?

JETSET700 06-18-2008 12:37 PM

Thanks for the great replies!

Accessory drive is ATS Sidewinder as reboot stated.

Subframe connectors are DSE and are going in with Quadralink.
They are a must.

Thanks so much to Tyler at ATS for tech advise and service cubed.
The car has alot of his products all bad ass!

Hello Peter;

NICE work you've done on that Camaro. No shortcuts there.

Question: the black anodized AN fittings and black braided hose - what brand? (looks like they were running to a remote oil filter?)

Reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to find a brand of plumbing that has matching colors for power steering fittings/hoses as well as the rest of the plumbing. So far - no luck at all.

Thanks in advance. Keep up the great work. Be sure to post pics when it's done - and no longer afflicting you - lol.

Dale-

We provided the hose and fittings- they are all from Earls.

Car looks good Pete. Get back home and get wrenching on it before it is 117 degrees outside.

Very Nice.

JETSET700 07-03-2008 09:34 AM

More cool $#!t

I just got my DSE Quadralink stuff & narrowed 9" brackets on, all powder
coated, aluminum center 3.70 gears. Tubs are here too!
It's time to get a wheel & tire order together. I'm having a local shop do the install as I want it done better than I could do it. They do high end vintage racecar restorations and will do a great job!

The tubs are not in so the wheel just on full width axle to see it.
I've been really busy of late and its really hot here these days so
I'm not getting much done. I should have A/C'ed the garage!

Killer car. It looks like paint is all done? Were you nervous about cutting and adding the tubs in?

tones2SS 10-01-2008 04:35 PM

Can't wait to see it done.
Looks awesome already.:hail:

bigtyme1 10-01-2008 06:21 PM

SWEET HRE's, do you have stock front spindles?

JETSET700 10-01-2008 06:27 PM

Still more work ahead!!!!

Thanks for all the possitive feedback.
I hope to have the car done this winter. After checking the fitment I
will order wheels & tires this week. The wheel in earlier post is just to
test fit.

It has been great fun to build but I'm ready to drive! I've had this thing
since 84' & its been on the back burner since 93'. Now four years to get it where it is today.

You are correct, I had to take a double look

rich-allen 10-02-2008 03:53 PM

Man, TIG welding the entire rear was painstaking!

What a chore.

Is there a reason you decided to TIG vs MIG? Just curious on your theory.

Oh, Killer car!

Vent windows forever

JETSET700 10-04-2008 07:31 AM

Tom, yes we had to support the car very well. The car was on a level steel
work platform then braced firm. This is all very important as we cut across
the whole trunk. Not a place to shortcut if you want the car true. We also
put the SFC in so this support helped that come out good.

The car has ATS spindles, as for the welds being TIG Rich there is no real
reason. The work was indeed tedeous, Ryan deserves huge credit for alot of
great welding in awkward positions. It took alot of time & massive amounts
of material.

How about some updated pics!

JETSET700 10-04-2008 11:07 AM

Hey Curtis, I saw you have to sell your car to bad that sucks! It is a good excuse
to build another in the future.

The pics of the tub & Quadralink install are the most recent. They are also
fabbing my intake tube & exhaust system out of pieces I brought them.
It will be ATS headers to 3", 3" fabbed X-pipe (earlier post pic) 3" back to a
set of 2.5 Corsa mufflers then full tail pipes.

Yeah it has to go. Might be doing the Fly Dubai gig for awhile, we'll see.

Looks like I might need to jump seat down and have a look at your project one of these days soon. Always fun to watch them coming together.
