Forgeline wheels and C-6 Zo6 brakes dont work
So i have the c6 zo6 brake on my 79z and with those you need to spend alote of money on wheels so they fit O.K so thats what i did talked to alote of ppl and went with the Forgelines after putting the front end together I found out that the top to ribs on the caliper hit the bolts on the wheels all this money and need to trim the top of the calipers to make them fit. Just wanted to let you all know about this so you dont get smacked in the face like i did

To be accurate, the Forgeline wheels as they were ordered won't fit.
From your post it's hard to know if it's the fault of Forgeline, the one who took the measurements, or the one that placed the order. I assume these wheels arn't for a Z06, which would mean they aren't exactly the same specs as a Vette. They wern't in my case. If you have the room (for the wheel to move out) you could fix your issue with an 1/8" hub-centric spacer. Maybe even a thinner one. |
Call me tomorrow and lets review the build sheet on the wheels. Whatever it is will be handled, have no fear.

thanks again |
I just got off the Phone with Frank from prodigy customs and Scott from Forgeline and they are great in the customer service they are sending me out a hub-centric spacer to work the clearance with my wheel and brakes. Now thats top notch customer service in my book.

Hey Brandon, the 3 MM spacer is on the way and should solve the problem. But the ultimate problem is not with the wheel, but with the purchase order for the wheel. In other words it is 100% my fault.
Apparently, in reviewing the build sheet on the wheels, I did not specify the 06 ZO6 brakes on the PO even though you and talked about that. All Forgelines can be built to clear those brakes, and we do it eveyday. It just requires the guy sending in the PO to specify that. that guy being myself this time. So in the end, if something more drastic then a spacer has to be done to get the clearance we need, it lays on my shoulders and new wheels will be built. Whatever it takes to fix it will be done. Just let me know, You know my number Sorry. |

I asked this on pt.com. It appears that only the nuts are contacting the caliper. Would a jam nut or ARP 12point (small OD) nut clear?

The 3mm spacer isn't a big deal. I'm running them on the back wheels with zero issues. |
Awesome Frank !
